    Default Ancient Egypt: Pharaonic Destiny

Well I'm no modder, but this is my idea for a mod. It is mainly to give life to the "Ancient Egypt" mod that was in development, but who's developer abandoned it. (http://www.twcenter.net/forums/forumdisplay.php?f=636)

Well it would be set it the lands of Libya Eastern, Northern Sudan, the fertile cresent and of course Egypt. The factions would Egypt, Libyan Nomads, Nubian Nomads, Assyrians and Hittite. The Hyksos could be an emerging nomad faction.

    Here is a map:

[Libyan Nomads are West of Egypt, Nubian Nomads and South, Assyrians are east of the Hittite empire].

I see lots of potential for this mod if it were to be done. What do you guys think?

Looks good. If you did two ages, you could have an earlier one with the Mitanni and Myceneans and Minoans. Oh, and the Babylonians.

    I cant mod either unfortunately.

Yes, as a matter of fact also Persia could be added.
And yes we could split it into 2 or maybe 3 ages. Early, Maybe Middle, and late.

Absinthia, thanks, but I was hoping a modder who likes the idea would take it into their hands

I have the same opinion as Absinthia.
Probably none will help you if you are not a modder.
You need to show some progress in modelling, skinning, mapping, coding...
At least in one of these stuffs.

OK, I'll try, but I have no idea on anything from the things that you mentioned.

    Ill go with mapping...

Excuse my ignorance, but for mapping do I just need to draw a map?

not sure how well it fits with your time-frame, but perhaps you should join forces with these guys?

Agreed, joining a mod team is always a good start.

Certainly. Every mod has its fans, but they probably won't come until you have some work to show.
If you want to learn modding, I suggest doing trying skinning and coding first. Its up to you though.

Also head on over the the graphics workshop, there's plenty of tutorials to get you started on 2D art, and those guys will be more than happy to answer any questions.

Best advice I can give you in my opinion is don't be afraid of asking another modder questions when you don't understand something.

    Good luck.

Hmm, they have a very good mod, and team with very good potential. But it dones't seem to have much historical accuracy. The Kingdom of Israel and Judea for example didn't exist back at the time.

Well I'm having difficulties with mapping so Ill take your advice and go with coding.
