    Default Terrible generals, horrible managers!

Playing as Gondor again right now and im getting very angry with my incompetant commanders. Every single one of my generals have eye for, or admirer of beauty as well deep pockets, Royally extravagant, incompetant trader etc. As a result I dont have a single decent commander or governer. What can be done about this?

getting them into battle will usually make them competent leaders of men and give them chivalry if you spare lots of prisoners, or dread if you don't spare them. and that, my friend, is why gondor needs borimmer and farimeer.

Maybe so, but its all the management traits I want to be rid of. One guy has Fraudulant, underhanded, royally extravagant, refined tastes and so on and he is costing me nearly 1.5K per turn.

If you want good management traits, you have to set the taxes to high or very high- lower and they will get bad taxman etc.

Then you shoulnd`t build entertainment buildings like taverns- Those give managers bad traits, too.

Then you should always build farms and markets as soon as possible in each city with an governor- before they get bad farmer, bad trader etc.

But even then you might get bad traits- but less than before.

Characters might become extravagant when they stay in an town with theatres or similiar. To prevent this simply move them a bit out the city each turn and then move them in again- They only get this trait this way when they got 100 % of their movement point left.

However, they might also get this trait when you own much money. So most of your generals will get this trait over time.

Deep Pockets is gained through having much money.

Seriously... I just started another Gondor campaign and within 10 turns the same trends were emerging. I have no idea why...

    Just read the following:

    http://totalwar.honga.net/traits.php..._age&f2=gondor

On the right are the conditions for each trait- Just seek the trait you want and read up how he is gained.

(There are more than one page, just look at the bottom.)
