Default milkshape crash with GOM's converter

hi, i wanted to add a custom 2 handed mace that i made to a unit, i merged the mace with my unit and the file said that it took up 0KB of space, I thought that was wierd and i opened it up. When i opened it up milkshape crashes! is there something wrong with GoM's Converter? or is the Polycount to high(which i think is the problem)?

Dont use Goms converter to merge. Under Milkshape go to File->Merge. Then just assign new weapon to attachments and correct bones.

Merging should not be done in Milkshape as it can stuff up the model. Does your custom mace file have a skeleton? If not, that'd be the problem. GOM's converter needs a skeleton for the merge to work correctly. I believe though that GOAT can merge files where one doesn't have a skeleton. Might be wrong though

The other alternative is to export your mace from milkshape as an .OBJ file and then import it into your other file.

I did. Because of Milkshape's merge function, I had to manually go in and re-assign ALL the faces to the bones. It was SO painful and obnoxious that I just started over, used GOM's converter, and bam. No issues whatsoever.
