Oh, we're taking turns, I see. Well, Lawrence might not return for another few days so lets just give mine a turn.
I swear I've seen a city similar on Rick Steve's Europe
I like how the land along the side of the river is being used to grow stuff with the city on the outside
Its in Africa, particularly an oil-rich state.
No.
Think Arab-speaking states.
Alexandria.
Its not in Egypt. Keep guessing, you are closer. C'mon, there aren't that many big cities in North Africa that look like that, keep going.
Khartoum.
Khartoum, Sudan is correct, good job. I personally would never guess so, I think a lot of people, formerly including myself, have a very different image of Sudans infrastructure and organization. The country has a very good ethic on issues self-reliance and national welfare (if ur Arab of course), they even have a decent weapons engineers and most Sudanese Arabs Ive met in my life were engineers, its a popular occupation there, perhaps more so than most of the world.
When the South-North divide of 2011 comes and something is done about Darfur, North Sudan will easily have the highest GDP per capita in north Africa second to Libya.
