@Mac, I thought the same when I made it, but you're right it's probably too hard.
This one contains some more clues despite the poor resolution. Also it's not a war memorial.

It is the flag of iceland. The rightmost flag, I don't know. The fact that it is blue on white might mean something, but other than that I wouldn't count on tracing it.
I can give one further hint: The monument faces in a westerly direction, out to sea.

Anyways, this a memorial in Herjólfsdalur - Mormon Pond, with a list of Mormon emigrants from Iceland to the US.

Correct! Don't know about that 3rd flag. Blue on white is also a common theme in icelandic (municipal) flag, though this one doesn't seem to match that of Vestmannaeyjar.Originally Posted by King Athelstan
