I definitely don't know my mountains then. What is it known for? Mountaineering?

It's notoriously difficult to climb, there have been very few successful attempts. Here is perhaps a better picture:

Baintha Brakk or The Ogre is a steep, craggy mountain, 7,285 metres (23,901 ft) high, in the Panmah Muztagh, a subrange of the Karakoram mountain range. It is located in Gilgit-Baltistan, Pakistan.[2] It is famous for being one of the hardest peaks in the world to climb: twenty-four years elapsed between the first ascent in 1977 and the second in 2001. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Baintha_Brakk

No - wrong part of Europe.

Apologies to everyone as have now checked source of the original photo - it was partially labled incorrectly at source , which has made my clue incorrect. (wondered why there had been no bites....)

This revised clue should give it away - "Archivo General del Reino"

That is why I said it is in Castile & Leon, plus "Archivo General del Reino"; another clue it is the Province that starts with a "V" & ends with a "d"

The Aztex style is. To me anyway. When I was in grammar school, Aztec society was a special topic in history class, and I've always paid extra attention to documentaries and museum expositions.

Ok, next one. What and where!
