Right you are! What tipped you off? The tall church to the left is Saint Olav's Church (Oleviste kirik locally) that is reputed to have been the tallest building in the world for some time in early modern age.
The city comes highly recommended as a tourist destination for those who like dedication to middle-age history and plenty of culture. Or just for visiting a post-Soviet country that is clean, safe, and well-functioning with a population that speaks English and is committed to western values.
