[SOLVED]MS3D Question Regarding Materials
So I have my unit all ready to go in MS3D, but I'm suffering from partial invisibility and the Jesus Syndrome in game. I downloaded and consulted Alletun's Tome of Knowledge, which actually addresses this problem. However, I must individually go and re-rig all the faces to the bones individually (he's right, this is a very long and arduous task).
But I noticed that most of my problems stem from having originally had three groups of Figures and Attachments in the Materials tab. I was wondering if there was any way to merge the three groups together so that I don't have to outright delete any of them. If this is possible, then I should be able to preserve my work and not worry about this whole headache.
Or, alternatively, should I just start over?
Also, how can I select the faces on the back left of the model in order to assign them? I can't figure out how to rotate the model in any of the non-360 degree view. And thus I can't get to it :<
Any sound suggestion would be most appreciated.

Re: MS3D Question Regarding Materials
If you have multiple sets of materials, just delete the extra ones. The ones to delete should be the the ones below the first set, BUT make sure that the material doesn't have a comment in it BEFORE you delete it. On the material tab there is a Comment button. If you click it and the comment window for the selected material is blank, then it is safe to delete. Then just make sure that all your groups are assigned to the correct Figure and correct Attachments material.
As for rotating the views in Milkshape, right click on one of the viewports and go to Projection on the popup menu. Then select one of the other options that popup to change the view.

LOL! I'd much rather be doing this than my real job anyway

Re: [MOSTLY SOLVED]MS3D Question Regarding Materials
Hahaha I hear that! So I just decided to start over and avoid the MS3D merger (which does, indeed, suck). So now my models are in-game (hurray!). But now they have weird textures. I'm unsure of whether this is from using a faulty normal.texture or if I need to do some UV-Mapping. Since I did use the Tripoli body meshes, I'm thinking I need to UV-map it out.
Will MS3D's texture coordinate editor work for this? Or would I be better off using another program?

Re: [MOSTLY SOLVED]MS3D Question Regarding Materials
Without knowing the specifics of what you're doing, I'd say that the texture co-ordinator should be fine. It's only really when you're doing some serious re-UV-mapping do you need an external program. But for just moving and scaling UV maps, Milkshape is fine

Okay, cool. I'm trying to keep my products under wrap for now, otherwise I'd provide a ton of screenshots. But your help really is invaluable
At this rate, I'll have to list you down as the "editor consultant"!
EDIT: Turned out that I was a tool and used the wrong normal.texture (lol). Problem solved.
