Default False promises of Barrack Hussein Obama

Go ahead and post any promises you care to recall from the election campaign and compare to what he's actually done.

Obama at one point promised to withdraw all American troops from Iraq within 90 days of taking office, this is of course, not that case today. Withdrawl from Iraq was the cornerstone of his campaign, yet 90 days have passed and.... [drum roll]..... the US is still there!

He promised to veto any attempted renewal of the PATRIOT Act and Obama then once elected, supported its renewal.

The interesting thing is that his support base, though dwindling in number, still by and large are not calling him out on these broken promises. In fact, they credit him with doing great things when in fact he has not only continued Bush's policies, but actually expanded many of them that he had promised to eliminate.

The issue isn't about whether or not the PATRIOT Act is good or bad. Its not about whether or not we should still be in Iraq, its about Barrack Hussein Obama saying one thing and doing another. Its about people turning a blind eye when he blatantly lies.

Any other broken promises people can think of, post it here. The lies of BHO are in unlimited supply afterall

Oh my GOD a politician who lies! This is something new and hideous, what are we going to do!!!

Seriously though, whoever gets in doesn't do what they say they will. This is the art of knowing who to vote for: take what they say, pare it down by 60-80%, and then see if you like what's left!

Its one thing to lie as a politician is prone to do. Read my post, the issue is that people still support him despite his lies. And these weren't small lies. He said "elect me, I'm not Bush, I will solve all your problems with profound policy changes and reversals." Then after inauguration he said "nevermind" and took off his Obama mask to reveal that he is actually Bush! Yet people still support him. People who still support Obama are either apathetic and shouldn't have voted to begin with or they are idiots who didn't really dislike Bush's policies at all but said they did in order to follow a trend.

You know how the drones will react, right?

"Every politician lies, so it's ok."
The powers delegated by the proposed Constitution to the federal government are few and defined. Those which are to remain in the State governments are numerous and indefinite. The former will be exercised principally on external objects, as war, peace, negotiation, and foreign commerce; with which last the power of taxation will, for the most part, be connected. The powers reserved to the several States will extend to all the objects which, in the ordinary course of affairs, concern the lives, liberties, and properties of the people, and the internal order, improvement, and prosperity of the State. - James Madison

I believe we, the people, should start holding politicians accountable for their "undelivered promises," in other words, lies. It is NOT OK to lie to your own people, if you aspire such a high office as the Presidency. I know the current attitudes, especially those of many young-adult Democrats, are relaxed in this regard, but that needs to change.

Its called learning the political reality vrs his naive campaign promises.

Of course the left just saying lying is 'normal' is always amusing. What they can't say to even themselves in a whisper is 'Maybe Bush was right.'

    Because he wasn't!

Obama is not doing well by following Bush. That's why we're the, y'know, left.

Besides, why do you even care? Surely you'd prefer him to veer to the right?

Why is it necessarily lying? Foolish to say without knowing all the facts, but not lying. This in particular is something that you could never know the value, or effectiveness of, unless you were the POTUS, or one of the few people in Washington with the highest level security clearances.

Yeah, politicians suck. So does this idea that they cannot change their minds.

The one thing that scared me about Obama, that I didnt know, is how he would react, once he was allowed to see the intelligence. That unpopular, but likely very beneficial, and much needed policies would be scrapped to please his base. He earned massive points with me, for not being that guy.

And honestly, nobody has suffered from it, as all the scaremongers predicted we would. There isnt one single domestic, non terror related case that has went to court where the defense has even claimed the PA was abused.

Obama is not even a year in and theres another post about how hes lied. The cornerstone of his campaign wasnt to withdraw troops. I cant recall Obama ever promising to remove the troops from Iraq within 90 days of taking office, like you said that would be literally stupid. Other democrats ran on that but Im quite sure Obama never did. Anyway the cornerstone of his campaign was health care. And about Iraq, he has already removed American troops from major Iraqi cities and out of harms way so what more do you want, did the conservatives of the bush era just become the liberal anti war nuts.

Also, Bush promised major reforms within Nasa, what we get, government religious wack jobs telling scientist what to publish and what not to publish.

Am I right in saying that he did pass economic reforms, the economy is improving, he outlawed torture, he has withdrawn troops from major Cities in Iraq, improved relations with many countries around the world, supported stem cell research, and if Republicans will let him he will pass healthcare reforms?

    That's quite a lot in 7 months.

No you wouldn't be too right. Most economic improvement has been through simply time and some of the things put up under Bush, most of the things Obama has pushed through are lagging effects. He also didn't pull anyone out of Iraq, that was already laid out by, guess who, Bush. Supporting stem cell research is no more of an accomplishment then being against it or having no opinion.

Not when you look at what he's actually done.

I must agree with Hunter on this one. Obama is doing a lot of late-term Bush policies. To me, Obama has not been much different from Bush so far other than not screwing up all of his speeches.
