Hitting a female

I was thinking about putting this is the personal help section, but I don't have a problem.

So, I want to know if it's morally ok to hit a female.

Of course you can factor age and sickness in it, but I'm talking about in general.

I'll put the choices in the poll if you read this before I make it.

I'm going to vote- It's ok to retaliate within reasonable limits. Self defense...?

If she's attacking you there are ways to subdue someone without hitting them. In most cases grabbing their arms would be enough unless we are talking she-hulk here or you're very small in stature.

Right, exactly Farnan, which is why my answer was also 'a danger to myself or others'. Not just 'being attacked' because that's a flexible definition.

That's a little different. I say I would never kill someone, but then I would not hesitate to shoot someone in war. It is completely different, I mean it in a normal situation that most people would run into, not some man beast Russian woman warrior out for blood.

Out of curiosity, what is it that gives women this special birth right, which puts them higher than men in this regard. I find violence quite reprehensible, but I also do find special privileges based on gender and race also rather reprehensible. I wouldn't consider violence unless someone was in serious danger, but, why is a women somehow special?

Partially read Phiers post to understand why. Their strength is no where near a man's, and so it is unfair and cowardly to hit a woman who could have almost no possible way of fairly fighting back. Men are just naturally bigger than women, I know there are exceptions of freakish women (my gym teacher) but in general women cannot stand a chance. It's like hitting a kid in a way. Except I go the opposite way as Phier does, I guess we are polar opposites on this one Phier.

An interesting reason, but it's got one vital error, it's not actually an argument against hitting a woman, it's an argument against hitting someone who is weak, as the argument does not apply to strong women, but it can also apply to weak men, and of course your first post said you'd never do it, but then you obviously decided that was not the case and the military example is enough for you to fight back, but surely there are other cases, after all, the only time I think violence should be considered is when the person is putting themselves or others at a rather high risk, surely you would consider this a valid reason too, you wouldn't let others get hurt because you think it's wrong to hit a girl, right, especially when it would be the girls fault? Anyways, it's not like the majority of fights are ever fair, when they are you'll usually find it televised on some sports network(boxing, etc.) almost every real life example the fight is unfair, so there's not much difference when it's a woman.
