Default Race baiting in the media

A shot of the gun and part of the man carrying it is shown, what is absent is his face, or hands.

The host goes on to discuss how carrying guns to the town halls has "racial overtones", and implies they are white supremacists.

They had a very good cameraman, as he was able to conceal this inconvenient fact about the man carrying the AR-15:

    He's not white.

Do you think MSNBC was purposely trying to defame the protestors by implying that they were white supremacists, and that they concealed the race of the man holding the assault rifle on purpose to achieve that end?

I doubt it, because as you have just shown the truth can easily be uncovered.
And from what I understand there were a lot more people with guns, and I doubt they were all black, so why pick a black guy to film and then go through all the trouble to hide his race?

I think the idiots who made that piece simply didn't know he was black.

Because an idiot will only catch the headline and soundbite as he slurps his morning coffee or chows down on his burger and fries. Misdirection in the media is nothing new. This surprises me little.
To be governed is to be watched, inspected, directed, numbered, regulated, enrolled, indoctrinated, controlled, checked, estimated, valued, censured, and commanded, by creatures who have neither the right, wisdom, nor virtue to do so. To be governed is to be at every operation, at every transaction noted, registered, taxed, measured, numbered, assessed, licensed, admonished, reformed, corrected, and punished. It is, under pretext of public utility, and in the name of the general interest, to be placed under contribution, drilled, fleeced, exploited, monopolized, extorted, and robbed; then, at the slightest resistance, to be repressed, fined, vilified, harassed, abused, disarmed, choked, imprisoned, judged, condemned, shot, deported, sacrificed, sold, and betrayed; and to crown all, mocked, ridiculed, derided, outraged, and dishonored. -Pierre-Joseph Proudhon

You don't think the camera man, at the behest of who knows who, made an effort to conceal the man's race? Why such a closeup? You can't say it was to see the rifle properly because half the gun was also missing in the shot.

He was the only person there with an assault rifle.

I believe they knew the story they were going to report before they even rolled the cameras.

Maybe the man didn't agree to have his face filmed (not sure if they require his permission or not).

Or maybe they did film his face, but the editor of the clip decided he liked the closeup of the guns better.

    You think so?

I think they have one team to make images of (semi-)newsworthy events and then some highschool dropouts get to improvise and talk about it to fill the broadcasting time between commercials.

What you say assumes MSNBC has people with planning skills working for their shows, but if that were true then why is everything they make such a load of crap?

Gauvin, are you asking if the American media is so partisan and are so mired in dogma and agenda that they blatantly manipulated the facts to make a completely idiotic ideological point?

In Arizona there was more than one man (the black guy) with an AR-15, HOWEVER it is obvious the man filmed IS the black guy because of his gray slacks, thin black leather belt, white collared shirt and how he carries his weapon.

No, only Fox news shows media bias.

Exactly. I have to LOL at the people who thinks Fox is the only bias network, which they are, much like all the other networks have a bias.

I think the reason FOX "news" gets singled out is because there are so many people defending it.
I have never seen anyone here defend MSNBC as a credible source, not even by the most radical lefty loon (isn't that me? )

What gets defended as being better than FOX news is the BBC, other European channels, and perhaps at most CNN.

    MSNBC are loons.
FOX are loons who are taken seriously by millions.

Well, it's one thing to be biased, it's another to mislead and conceal. They're not the same thing.

However they are still things which the collective media frequently partakes in.
