That's right guys! To show you the incredible amount of work going into this project, I'm going to show you some early concept art!

Unfortunately, the quality has been greatly reduced with the size. This is the shield for standard Den infantry!

yes yes the true quality is amazing, and we cannot show the shield without the weapons, so here they are! Now War Club is divided up into 4 man types of warriors, The Den ( which we are showing first ), the elites who are supreme sionist commanders, the sionists and the companions who are rebels of the den who have returned to assist the den in battle but are really true enemies of each other.

Ah right, War Club is a film that Tomyris and I are making, there may even be a special TWC suprise in it It is basically about the endurng battles between the sionists and the warriors of the den and this is the final battle, we may release some other films explaning the history of War Club much like Star Wars. Maybe this will help explain more

I Quote From The Den Diggers Forum

    Greetings, War Club fans!
We have some very exciting news for you this week. As you know, the War Club team has been conceptualizing the film we wished to create since October of 2004. In December of 2004, we began to move toward making our grand vision into a reality. While we have always shared knowledge that can assist the Den community, much of what we have been working on has been kept out of the public view. The team feels that many of the conditions that initiated this no longer exist, so this is about to change.

First, we are sure you will be pleased as we announce that the upcoming film, planned to be a closed film, will in fact be open to the entire public. We expect to have a smaller group of individuals we have picked for their contributions to the film in these public forums, or a specific skillset, provide more controlled and focused feedback. This smaller group will have access to future planned closed films past the film's first release. This open film may possibly be in your hands within a month. *

Now, we would like to introduce you to many of the concepts that we have been hard at work on over the past few months.

    Economy and population dynamics

WC is severely limited in the changes it can make to the economy, due to Mash's law that surrounds it. We have to represent many things as abstracts. However, in general the population growth will be slower than in Fight Club, and the economy will better reflect the economic realities of the classical age.

    Expansion and the military

The military is probably one of War Club's brightest achievements. While limited by the 20 men limit, we are quite proud of our achievements. Aside from removing the ahistorical warriors, and the characters sparsely used and not deserving of a role, WC has researched and devised a complete new military for each of our factions appearing in the film.

    - Faction unit lists with about 15 unique, WC-created units each.
    - Siege weaponry will be vastly different than in Fight Club.
    - Warrior fighting styles are heavily tweaked to increase combat speed & lethality.
    - Warriors are balanced across the whole film. Warriors are given historical strengths, no parity is attempted where it did not exist.
    - Armies should not consist solely of elite warriors.

    Scenery Changes
You have seen a preview of our filming location. Some changes will be made to what you have seen, and some cosmetic improvements will be made.

    - A new scale of forest will be used, based on topographical area maps.
    - Terrain and climate is being heavily adjusted based on our research.

    Voices, sounds, and multimedia

As you are probably aware, voices and music are now very much a part of WC; composers such as Hans Zimmer and Howard Shore have joined the War Club team and are assisting in other areas of the project, and the WC team is lending its expertise to the composers.

    - All warrior, province, city, and building names will be in the appropriate, ancient language.
    - Family trees are fully researched, warrior names are being fleshed out with appropriate names.
    -New score.

    The Den

Until such time where a unified Den solution that is proven to be nuisance-free exists, War Club will continue to search for a solution that includes two Den
factions. Our previous implementation included Loyalists and Rebels. These were abstracts, where the 'leaders' of these factions represented influential members of the particular political group within the Den.

Since then we have gone through other ideas. The two factions may be called "Army Groups," or Workers, or Warriors, or two of an above choice and the Companions. Our current implementation in The Masters is going to be a test of a complete abstract - The Den and The Companions. These represent, simply, an arbitrary, abstract breakdown of the Den's classes. Comments are welcome.

Should we continue with this sort of culture division, the roles will be greatly adjusted, for both number and effect.

    Proposed future enhancements

War Club team members have proposed several enhancements to the WC project, to be decided and worked on once we have the basic WC release closer to complete. We have worked out details of these ideas, but are not yet ready to commit to them or begin work.

We hope you are as excited by our plans as we are!

    Cheers,

    -the War Club team

    * Note: All dates provided are very rough estimates, and not intended as a predictor of any sort. War Club reserves the right to adjust this date based on our own schedules, real life interruptions, bugs encountered, whimsical musings, or for any cheese reason we please. Complaints that we have not met an expected date will fall on deaf ears, and will likely result in derision and ridicule.:

To reiterate, War Club is a saga about the Sionists- a Roman/Greek type force- attempting to bring democracy to the barbarians of the Den, presided over by the tyrannical despot Mash. The age old battle is finally coming to a devastating conclusion; intrigue and betrayal is rife in the final days of the two great armies of the age.

A message for Ximan, if he is out there:

    Hello dear boy!
I trust you are well. For my own part, I am wondering if Vegas facilitates giving films that 'movie-look' which distinguishes epics from home-made flicks. On behind the scenes footage you always see scenes from the movies which don't look quite as good- eg the actors stand out from their backgrounds. In the final movie, however, the action looks more gritty, realistic, and overly aesthetically-pleasing. Is it something to do with filters? Is it even possible with a program like Vegas 5.0? Please reply soon!

By now, most War Club fans are familiar with the role of concept art, at least as it pertains to the development of a feature film. Talented artists first realize in pencil, pen, sculpture or quick digital paintings what the environments, characters and images of the fantastic worlds of War Club will look like. It's an exploratory process, mean to quickly establish the parameters of a fictional universe long before the physical construction of these elements begin for use in the finished film.

This is an early concept for King Mash, leader of the Den. He is armed with his famous bow and here appears somewhat taller than his final concept used in the film.

    A review from a lucky preview-screener!

I sat spellbound, watching the stupendous saga come to fruition. Director/producer/screenwriters, Lokimus and Tomyris have done a fantastic job of bringing the spirit of the characters and visceral feel of the magical places to vibrant life once again. War Club: The Masters is undoubtedly the darkest, most terrifying - and satisfying - installment in film history.

The rat-like creature, a Peter Lorre-esque King Mash (fantastically voiced by - and this time seen - Matthew Ash), is even more an accomplishment of the first order than he was in Fight Club, if that's at all possible. His sly glances, surly hisses and rattish gallop are so very real. So are the nasty Den diggers and their wolfish spades; the imposing elites; the idyllic and pacific woodland of Cissbury; and the ambitious battle scenes... are all sheer eye-candy, riveting and ravishing the mind.

The players are interesting to look at too, and there's more and better character development this time around - Lokimus is as handsome and stoic as ever, Venator is still gently lovely, Alexio, Ryan and Ben are as chubby and fuzzy as they were before, and Artorius cuts an even more commanding figure as he rides into the fray once more. The cinematography amps up the warrior's natural gallop, effectively making them appear slightly supernatural.

Although War Club would never be classified as a horror film, it certainly is a deep-dark fantasy, and it is more scary and edge-of-the-seat than any horror movie I have seen all year. The primordial Den warriors are absolutely terrifying. Lokimus' battle with Mash the rapacious rat-king will turn your knuckles a whiter shade of pale. The Elite are quite simply the stuff of nightmares. From the gloomy bowels of the Den to the tippity-top of the desolate Cissbury, Lokimus and Tomyris have brought forth some indelible horror imagery.
While there is no arguing that War Club is a big ol' behemoth of a special effects epic, not once is track of individual characters lost. Each one, good and evil, resonates.
The attention to detail is beyond compare, and yet the enormous battle scenes are nothing short of stunning and vicariously painful this time around. If the Elite's fight to the death to save their general, Lokimus, on the bloody battlefield doesn't move you then nothing short of a backhoe will. The deeply human emotions contrasted against the single-mindedness of evil kings is brilliantly realized, making War Club more than just a Sunday matinee. The majestic, sweeping long shots intercut with Old Master close-ups bring to mind Sergio Leone or David Lean on acid, with a dash of Hieronymus Bosch thrown in for good measure.

War Club: The Masters is an unparelled triumph in its genre. Laden with action and plot advancement, the passionate and literate writing and direction coupled with the detailed and expansive visuals, are nothing short of jaw-dropping. In this film, all the plot threads are woven together into a peerless tale, delivering emotional impact along with phenomenal visuals.
