So this woman sued the Google to obtain the e-mail address of an anonymous blogger just because that blogger wrote something she didn't like. I don't like one bit where this is going. And the scary part is that the court took her side on this.

This seemed to be a personal matter, but lots of people also use blogger to blackmail companies.

Blogger is great for blackmailing because you can easily get rankings in google.com, and (until now) you could easily hide your own identity (as opposed to using your own domain name, which requires you to publish an e-mail address to receive complains).
Until now it was also nearly impossible to get Google to remove a blog, even when you provide evidence of the blackmailing practice.

My company helps companies who get blackmailed like this, so it is good news for us (or not, because maybe now they no longer require our services...

)

Times like this I wonder if it is a good idea to collectively get a country that supports internet anons and take it from there. Possibly hosting an international anti-skank force to combat these threats to proper mockery and free speech. At least we would know the armies of other countries would fully support such an effort due to a majority of skanks being attracted to military pplz. Of course such a measure should be against full skunks only, as should this be opposed by certain women we can all be assured they are indeed village bicycles with common whooping cries of "don't judge me!" and increased ear sensitivity when the words of men "I'm a virgin" are spoken.

Umm, this is the only way to keep bloggers honest now that newspapers are folding and blogs are becoming more mainstream.

My fear was that professional journalism would die and be replaced by the propagandoblogosphere where people can make libelous statements with impunity.

Free speech does not extend to slander, if the blogger had said this in a news publication, or on television or on the radio, than she would've been liable for charges of slander (assuming her statements were false and defamatory), why should it be different for any other public medium?

It's like taking a picture of someone with a bottle of beer in their hand and saying they're an alcoholic. That's defamation.

She had her clothes on, didn't she? Is there any basis to claim she's a whore? She's not a prostitute.

I also assume you haven't seen the pics of the guy giving her a faux cum shot, and fisting her, which she makes of and apparantly makes public. Not skanky at all.
