Siege Deployment

Is there a way to increase the distance at which the AI deploys its rams, ladders and towers?
My efforts in the formationsfile have been fruitless. So is there a way to increase the distance between the red deployment-line and the walls?.

I assume you've already tried placing a huge empty block at the front of the deployment formation and it didn't work?

The space occupied by the deployment zone is hardcoded, afaik.

Yes. The spacer only affects the units behind, not the units carrying equipment(or elephants or siegeartillery).

Speaking of siege,no one has cracked a way to deploy Siege Engines into and out of settlements,or even wooded????? In MTW2 OK,but here lol,tried BI,and ALEX..no go. I was used to sally forth or defending and deploying siege against towers and enemy etc,but sadly not in RTW. I think text file change???
