Default CTD: Battle starts; Kingdoms v1.05, BC v2.02

I have Kingdoms version 1.05 and installed BC version 2.0 and patched it up to 2.02. Running on Vista.

Every time I start a battle, doesn't matter if it's a Campaign battle, Custom battle or Quick battle, the application crashes right after loading the battle map. (I can actually see a glimpse of it, with some terrain and units, but only for a split second.)

Tried lowering the graphic settings to no avail.

    Any suggestions?

    Have you unpacked M2TW maybe?

Because yesterday I had to reinstall M2TW and BC, and other mods. I reloaded campaign, and what surprised me was that every time I went into battle the game was CTD. I solved this now, that's why Im asking. If you unpacked M2TW then you have to find two files:

    descr_geography_new.db
    descr_geography_new.txt

    ...and delete them.

If you haven't unpacked them, however, try to follow this advice:

Unistall whole game (recomended) or mod
Go to start menu (windows logo) - All programs - accesories - command prompt.
    In command prompt type regedit.exe.
    Open HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE
    Open SOFTWARE
    Open Wow6432Node
    Look for SEGA
Delete SEGA or open SEGA - Medieval II Total War - Mods - Unoffical-then delete mod. You will recognise it by name (if you have remove only mod)

    Restart computer (optional)
Install M2TW /kingdoms (not necesary if you only unistall mod)
Depends where you install game find SEGA folder.
    Right click on SEGA folder
    Click on Properties
    Click on Security tab
Select System (in window) then click Edit (box)
    Select Full control (little box)
Repeat this for everything (you can exclude other users if you like)
    Apply

Do same with mod installer (right click on installer and repeat steps before)
