    Default Historical Battles 2

    Does anyone know how to enable the Historical Battle menu? Cause i wanted to create some historical battles, but i can't play them at the moment as the historical battle menu is disabled.

    Add -enable_editor as a command line.

    Ah sorry, read it in a rush and didn't notice exactly what you meant. Can't help with this case though.

    Hi Mataputas,

    The historical Battles are not disabled,but there are no battles added for RM2,just add your battles in "RomeMedievalMOD\Data\world\maps\Battle\custom".

    Thanks for your reply, I'm already making Agincourt. There are still a lot of things to correct, and I have to learn how to script on historical battles, but my idea is to make some more battles and then post them so that u people may give them a try and tell me what to fix.

    Yes, it's one of the projects... There will be others with teutonic knights too... Anyway, I've just started, and I'm a bit short of time at the moment, so don't look forward to giving them a try in the short run.

    I was thinking that, if everything goes fine, I may read a bit of modeling and try changing some cities so that they are more similar to the real ones. I mean, each one different from the rest. So siege battles would be the last ones. But that's a long run project... I know it's not easy work and I'm just a beginer who has trouble arranging the armies =/

    If you want, just post what battles you would like to play and I will consider making them. I still don't have a full list of battles

    It might help if you were to try and change one of the historical battles that are already in Rome Total War
    just change little things here and there until it ends up being a completely different battle

    Yes, i'm doing that but for scripting... there's not much info about that, so i have to learn from my mistakes... I'm just starting with the scripting for Agincourt.

    I've got some trouble with Hastings... mainly historical trouble... The following are 2 reasons for not making Hastings:
    - Hastings Battle was in 1066, and the game timeline starts in 1074, year of the call of the Pope Gregorius VII to help the Byzantine empire.
    - There are neither Normans nor Saxons in the game...

    If the community really want this historical battle to be added, I will do it, but I don't think it will be too historical.

    the timeline isn't a problem. As long as people wan tit they'll play it. For the saxons, you can have the english play them since they were the ones who actually made ENGLAND and for the normans well maybe the french can take their role.

    The problem is that the names of the faction are set to the ones they actually replaced like the English can have a Marcus Aurelius as their General, but I guess you can handle that quite easily.. I hope the RM team Fixed that in RM3...

    Yes, i was thinking that in the case I made that battle, I would use those factions... I'm still not sure, though... I would like it to be more historical... English vs French was not the reality. Perhaps it's possible to change the faction's name for the historical battle, i'll see... Anyway, I have other priorities.

    Regarding the generals' issue, i'm changing the character names for the factions so that we can play stirling bridge with William Wallace, or Angicourt with King Henry V. It's not difficult to solve that, I can post a tutorial on how to do it if u want

    At the moment, I'm working on 3 different battles, mainly on getting info about the army, formation and development of the battle, designing the battlefield and arranging the armies on the field... I'll start scripting on the weekend.

    And please, someone connect to hamachi so we can play!! I'm bored of playing againts AI

    I would log on to hamachi but i am tired of setting a time for people to show up and they never do

    then they complain that no one is ever on(not talking about you) and i set another time and they never show

    so lets try this again

    I can't confirm 2 days in advance... It depends on homework and that stuff... but i know that every friday i'm logging in... near 2 pm GTM -3 (Buenos Aires).
