I haven't touched any ballista or scorpion entries. I've never played with them, but if they were present in the original ExRm, they should be there in the Alex version, too.

Open the export_descr_unit file in the data folder and search for units with names like that. Also, if they have ":" before them, they are commented out, i.e. not used in the current version. You might also have to check the export_descr_building to see if there is building that allows their recruitment (i.e. they might be present in the edu all right, but they need a building as well).

p.s. these two files are commonly referred to as EDU and EDB.

    its looks like this
recruit "roman ballista" 0 requires factions { roman, } and building_present_min_level smith foundry
recruit "roman scorpion" 0 requires factions { roman, } and building_present_min_level smith foundry

    in EDB ?

Oh dear. I thought I'd fixed that in the last hotfix. Delete "and building_present_min_level smith foundry" and that should solve all kinds of problems.

That's surprising. If I had Alex, I would look into that for you.

Which faction are you playing? Some factions don't have access to those.

Ok, so you should definitely have access to them. Have any other Roman players noticed those things are unavailable?

Hmm, shouldn't it be "romans_julii" instead of "roman"? I've forgotten the internal ExRm reference to the Roman faction. Have you ever been able to recruit them in "vanilla" ExRM?

Isn't it referring to the culture "Roman" as opposed to the faction? It does that with barbarians and that works. @Heptagenia: You have built a foundry, right?

I think not. Ownership is indicated with the faction name in both the edu and the edb.

roman is the culture of the romans_julii. You can use the culture as ownership in both EDU and EDB.
