Icon5 Is there anyway to change unit size during campaign?

I made the mistake of using Huge for unit sizes on the campaign, I can usually handle 3 full stacked armies in one battle but anymore then that and Im lagging to the point where its unplayable. Is there anyway I can change unit sizes during an already ongoing campaign? I tried it in the graphics settings and it didn't work. I just want to change the unit sizes to Large to see if it's fine. Is there anyway I can do it? Im about to invade Sicily with 3-4 armies and there are 3 strong Greek armies on the northern boarder of Sicily very close together.

You are supposed to use Huge, everyone else does...
Tried tuning down the graphics abit? For example, you can turn off shadows, reflections and glints and set the terraindetail to medium, turn off grass... A few things that doesn't affect visuals that much, but have a big impact on performance!
Also, try running the game windowed, -ne in the shortcut targetline, this improves performans also! Just make sure to set the ingame resolutions to the same as your desktops (my game runs better windowed at 1440x900, than it does not windowed in 1024x768...)

Not possible to change units size when you started a campaign you need to set it up at the start of a new campaign.

Ill try playing it in windowed for those big laggy battles involving more then 3 armies. I did lower all my graphics settings before and it still did not work. My computer is old only a P4 3.2 Ghz 2gb of ram and a 8400 512 meg card. I will be upgrading video cards soon though.

Would anyone be able to find this saved game editor? It will really help me in my campaign with those massive battles involving more then 3 armies.

then your computer is about twice as powerful as mine, so on lower settings it shouldn't be two noticeable

Trust me it is very noticeable, in a battle involving 4 armies the game becomes unplayable and very laggy. I lower my graphics settings to as low as it can possibly go and it's still laggy and unplayable. What are your computers specs?

One thing you can do, and I think it works retroactively is to change in the preference.txt "Unlimited men on battlefield" From TRUE to FALSE. This would put you up against 1 army at a time....

I would rather use that saved game editor first, it sounds easier. This is only for specific instances when 4 or more armies are involved in one battle, If I changed the text I would have to keep exiting and going back to change it again after a big battles over. Ill do that if the saved game editor doesn't work, Can anyone help me find it please?

i can only play about 3 armies before i notice a difference, but this doesn't bother me to much as i just avoid such overwhelming odds

my com specs is 1024 mb ram, 1.6 Gz and i can never remember how to check video cards.

just keep fidling around with the options and you'll find a setting that should work for you

Put every thing to normal and unit detail to high. That should do the trick.

Or pick right terrain to not get surrounded this much. I am getting lag as well from time to time but heck, who cares?
