    Default Rome Total War II

What are the chances that the next Total War will be a new visiting of Rome? Or, perhaps 4th - 5th century Greece? Imagine how awesome realistic trireme/quinquereme/etc. warfare could be! And a more current graphics engine - we could perhaps have properly large armies full of uniquely modeled soldiers (though I'd have to buy a new computer as I play on regular size and low graphic quality as it is). Of course diplomacy would have to be totally revisited. The possibilites for greatness boggle my mind. I am sure some of the excellent ideas of the modders around here could be incorporated. So, anyone have any knowledge if this is in the works? Suggestions for Creative Assembly?

Thanks guys. A Napoleon Total War is Fairly neat, I suppose. Trudging too close to modern times for me, but what can you do?

Ditto, I didn't and won't buy Empire because of steam and the same will apply for any future releases.

Let's just pray that if CA made another game based on the Diadoch/Roman time line they'll get the phalanx right. I really hate the moon walking phalanx.

ah, seems you discovered a unit so elite and deadly it was kept even from the histories. I guess the moon walk is a fieint retreat.

Steam is "bad" because it's quite invasive and it tends to screw up installation and modding.

Expansion or not, it's essentially still the next TW game.

From what I remember, its not actually an expansion, its a new game entirely (so they can sell it at full price, presumably). Essentially ETW reskinned. I won't be buying.

I love that part of history, its just steam is uber lame, i wonder if they'll ever make a WWII or WWI style of game, that would be badass (sorry to be off topic) they should redo BI and set the time period right before the roman empire falls apart (just a thought)

My only interest in Empire is its modding potential. Sea battles, 50 factions... *drools*

They'd have to got to a completely new engine for that. Too much variety in weaponry, not like RTW where each man in a unit is armed pretty much identically.
