    Default UI for Factions?

    Has anyone found a way to utilize a similar function as the faction_variants folder in the /ui/* folders?

    I've tried a variety of things in the hopes that the functionality wasn't only presented, like most things are, where CA needed it and only where they needed it. Tried a folder directly in there with the faction name aside the culture named one, tried a faction_variants folder similar to the residences one underneath buildings within a culture(with both faction and culture name for the file), tried a couple other things.

    It's might annoying that I can change strat cities, strat agents, scripts, strings files, ai files, building requires and capabilities all by factions, yet the building pic and the portraits have to be handled by arbitrary culture headers(and possibly the look of settlements on the battle map, but that's another matter entirely). Will try folders in other curious places; it's a real shame if the building pics are like that, because it's the one thing separating the usage of the same tree for entirely different purposes across factions.

    Woah, you are maybe the only mod that wants MORE entities to create unique buildings/portraits/graphics for. I say release the mod asap if you have such an overflowing of free time and talent!

    Uniqueness and utilization are entirely different considerations. Faction-specific portraits are the only thing that presents us from using the exact same building tree of Super Awesome Baked Goods Store from one faction and making it Jesus Juice and Friends for another. Well that and the build time/cost, but in most cases this would be negligible for the utility.

    I also don't see how the ability to differentiate by faction makes anything more intensive, especially with southern_european as the default. I can just put everything in the "base" culture file, and then have the freedom to change it by faction for utility or visual effect if desired. Faction-specific in this regard doesn't mandate the production of a more extensive catalog of media.
