mainly a suggestion but if like there to be a hobbit army in the game (maybe in another patch who nows ) i have made up armies of just hobit archers and took the black gate with them (had full army with upgrades) but i think it would be good to destroy the might of the dark lord with small chuld like creatures what do you think, also id be happy to help research and if i got help do what ever else just an idea hope some one else i thinking the same

Anyways, I would be willing to help research for a Hobbit faction, The Unfinished Tales will have one, but it would be nice if someone else could do the work

The Unfinished Tales submod for Third Age: Total War

Instead of making a Hobbit faction. There should just be some basic Hobbit town watchmen/police units you can recruit (Peasant standard in MTW2) only recruitable in Bree. This would incorporate Hobbit aspects in the game but remember that they were a peaceful folk and only ever needed to fight in the earliest days of Middle Earth. In The Hobbit Book they are described as having some town watch/police to keep order in The Shire but nothing more.

And ofcourse minimize the peasants so they will look like hobbits

About 100 years before the War or the Ring (I think) during the Fell Winter, Bandobras "Bullroarer" Took fought off an Orc band. I believe, and I could be mistaken as I don't have the books at hand currently, that Bandobras knocked the head off of the Orc chief Golfimbul with his mighty club, and it rolled into a hole in the ground, thus creating the game of golf. The Bounders were charged with "beating the bounds" of the Shire to make sure no evil creatures infiltrated it, and the Shirriffs (spelling?) were charged with constable duty.

But there wasn't any hobbit army in the Third Age. Just townwatch Hobbits.

But you have people with weapons. It isn't a drastic leap to have them stand in a group and fire arrows at a mass of people.

Bree had a mixture of Hobbits and Men living there.

Don't just make a unit, make a whole hobbit faction! Nothing like attacking the black gate with a bunch of halflings...
