Having steadily advanced westwards from the easy capture and sack of Carthage itself, Quintus Rex has been increasingly worrying his troops with bizarre pre-battle speeches and tales of his invisible friend. Leaving the bulk of his force - including his beloved elephants - in a regulation fortified camp, Quintus personally scouts ahead with a small cavalry force of 167 men, hoping to set an ambush for what remains of the Carthaginain army near Tring. He is surprised by an overwhelming force of over 1,000 men and, unable to withdraw, calls on his invisible friend for help...
...now everybody wants such a friend and Quintus is in line for great things come the next Senate elections. Someone truly is watching over him.
Funny how you get to like certain characters isn't it? I got a bit irked when the madness traits started showing up, but now I have great faith in Quintus as he 'does a Hannibal' with large mercenary reinforcements along the southern Iberian coast. If he makes it back for his triumph in Rome, he'll get one of those new-fangled Imperial legions for sure. Just one of the reasons I love RS. Thanks, team
