playble factions?

i dont know if this has been mentioned but search shows nothing and there is nothing in the faq. i am playing 6.1 and cant play some factions in the campaign (there is no flag to selecct). esspecialy the teutonic order. i guess that i have to set it as a playable faction in the files and deselect something else, am i right? wich file is it? thanks

Some factions aren't available in the early campaign. The Teutonic Order, the Mongols and Kingdom of Jerusalem are all emergent factions in the early campaign and can only be played in the late campaign.

And Papal States could be added to playable. I can suggest that, playing by Pope knows a lot of fun!

thanks guys, problem is i cant play late campaign. and as a side note, the game often crashes. if i go to do a custom game then press backi, when i select another option i.e. campaign it closes. same the other way round. any ideas? thanks

if you want to make them playable you have to play with the dscr_strat file. i made the teutonics playable from the begining. find the faction you want, delete where it says "dead until resurected" then scroll down into the rebel citys. cut and paste the ones you want to the faction you want to play as. then scroll down until you find the rebel leaders and their units, delete them. so if you are taking over Riga, move the building entry for riga to your fation the find the rebel leader who is in riga and delete him. now what I did was open up the late campagn dscr_strat file and copyed the units and family members from the teutonics over to the early file. instant family tree and units.
