Whole navy lost

Ok, I admit I haven't searched to see if this is a known problem, and I have to say that when I am the winner it's grand, but having just had a "close defeat" with 6 silver chevron triremes against a much bigger force of Macedonians it's a little vexing! Every naval battle I have, no matter how many ships are sunk or remain for either side, the whole losing navy is sunk. Is this a known problem? I don't recall seeing it mentioned since I started reading this forum but I haven't searched all the old problems either.

Edit: Sorry, just to be clear, no matter how many ships are reported as sunk and remaining in the scroll that pops up after the battle, ALL ships of the losing side are sunk. So I could have a close defeat but there is no difference to a thoroughly crushing defeat. The losing side will no ships left afterwards.

Yes, afaik this started to occur when I changed from vanilla to RS. I do actually not see the reason why the Team would do this?

You are right, i noticed that too, but for me its fine. If there was a seabattle, there are 2 posibilities for me:
1. I sent to enemies-ships all into hell

or

2. I sent as many into hell, and the rest, i will capture.

In both ways, the enemy has no fleet anymore. I like this very much.

That's not entirely correct. What you 'see' is not exactly what has happened. The losing navy has simply run away and 'hidden'. At any rate, there isn't anything we could've done to change that, the behavior of ships in RTW is what it is. I know of no way to change anything about it except the individual stats of ships.

OK, but it never reappears that I know of, it just hides forever? Well if nothing can be done so be it, and of course the same rule applies to enemy fleets too.

Uh-uh!

In vanilla it was just like a losing land army: it retreated as far as possible. In RS it just... "disappears".

Yeah, it's different to vanilla in RS, as far as I can tell. You can either win, destroying the opposing fleet completely and suffering casualties yourself, or lose, losing your entire fleet, and I'm fairly sure that's not how it worked on vanilla.

i've noticed this too. I always get the sinking ship animation and the enemy is gone! I actually think it's kind of nice, purposely done by the dev team or not.
