Cant get this working!

Have installed all the files (inc all patches)...i used winrar to open and then copied them over to c/medwar2...

brings up menu asks me 2 choose so i choose 4 or e...title screen loads but then crashes to desktop. 285 vista 64 ultimate 190.56...

any ideas why?

it isnt very clear where the patches are. i downloaded main conquest..then the attached files..but i see mention of 1.4/1.5/1.6...where are these?

right when i click on conq bat it launches then i get a small yellow exclamation box and crash. then when i click on conqbat and run as admin gives me the load screen...i press an option and then nothing happens.

(i copied all files into medwar2 folder. do i put the files in specific locations?).

You extract the conquest folder into the mod folder of your main m2tw directory, not directly in the main directory. The only thing it should ask to overwrite (maybe) is the ui folder in the data folder. That's all. Then all of the patches are extracted into the conquest folder.

also i havent patched kingdoms at all or medwar2. i just got the box set...previoulsy had it on steam which i think did all the patches for me..

This is the "official" patch thread.

If you have all Kingdoms patches, the game will run perfectly fine (as far as the game goes).

It works with 1.5 and I believe it works with 1.3 (Kingdoms automatically patches you to 1.3). I don't know if 1.4 ever existed

just done a fresh install and want to get it right this time. i loaded britannia and it says version 1.4 (gold box set)

i am most interested in playing the later campaign in particular so which is the best to download?

2.4? 1.3? 3.0?

basically a campaign with the largest world map. (japan faction?) if u can steer me in the right direction would be great.

You have to download the mod and all the patches to get the latest version of this mod (1.3). The 1546 campaign (Empires) is the one that covers the whole world.

hi im new at this i have downloaded all of the right patches and press the righ one and all but every time it says cant find the files please help me i really want to play this mod(and i have press 0 and enter but that gets me no where)

The patches in this thread are just update the earlier version to the 1.4 version.

Are you on Vista? If so, you need to be the administrator in order to have the files copied. And make sure when you type 0, you also type the letter/number of the campaign you want to play (e.g 0A or 04)

i have done every thing it just says cant find the file and they are there so what could be my problem

one question do we need all of the kingdoms pack or just one

Just one. As long as you have kingdoms, this mod should work. Oh, and make sure you have the .bat file in the Main M2TW Directory.

It does work. Many of the people who play this mod use Vista.

ok i got it but ran into another problem i try to go the Campain and it let me go to the menu for the faction and the unit cards dont show either

Have you unpacked the whole mod? The mod will not automatically unpack the second and third packs when you unpack the first one (I don't know why it won't).

Go to the download page:

Click the large 'Download' button.

On the Filefront website download the following files:
conquest_1.4_part_1.7z
conquest_1.4_part_2.7z
conquest_1.4_part_3.7z

Unpack these files separately (unpacking the first file won't unpack the other two).

Put all the unpacked files in the 'Medieval II Total War' folder (default location 'C:\Program Files\SEGA\Medieval II Total War').

Double click on the 'conquest.bat' to start this mod.
