Cant startup TATW

Hey guys i'm pretty sure i set up every thing correctly ( i run it off steam btw), i changed the name of the third age file to crusades, and i'm pretty sure i did all that right. and when i click the crusades button off the medieval 2 start screen it shows the crusades picture but w/ the lotr ring rotating as my cursor. and after a few seconds of holding in that screen it jsut closes all together. plz help./ and on the Readme it says this version is only compatible with the boxed version.

you instlaled both parts? its not enuf with having em in same directory and clicking one, you have to install both.

I am having the same problem. When I clicked start campaign it closed. When I was about to do a custom battle it closed. When I was gonna play it online it closed. When I did a historical it closed.
