Edit.Chavez attacks Obama for the fact that he doesnt do much to restore ex-president of Honduras to power.It seems that while some months ago US and Chavez had their relations improved, nothing has changed.Who is to be blamed for this?

Chavez looks like a balloon full of hot air to me. Sooner or later the hot air will escape the balloon and he 'll fall back to Earth. Hopefully there won't be a lot of damage done before that happens.

Chavez's raison-d'etre is to fight agaisnt the "imperial capitalists", with the USA being #1 in this regard. If the US leader doesn't fit this profile (eg he publically supports an elected leftist politician over a military junta), he has to come up with something to complain about, else why should he be in power?

Same thing applys to Iran, if you cannot blame the US, the BBC and their shadowy conspiracies will do.

I think this is where Obama's speak-softely-and-carry-a-big stick diplomacy is working the most. Not that suddenly these regimes will make a U-turn and become our friends (a la Libya), but rather it undercuts politicians and dictators that use anti-American sentiment to gain or keep power. Its a foriegn policy that will reap benefits over time, instead of the instant gratification that was sought under the Bush administration.

Perhaps the most amusing thing is that now that Chavez is saying bad things about Obama, he is now a person non grata to the American left rather than a hero of the people.

Chavez was lost in space if he thought Obama was going to stop screwing over latin america.

THe only place that actually has changed its view in the past few months is Syria. No one else has changed. Iran is still buidling nukes and Russia is sliding towards it in entente.

I think if Obama begged and apologized even more, his foreign policy would be even more successful. Maybe he should apologize to N. Korea for their nuclear program.
