    Default unit balancing/animation bug D:

hey! im a bit of a n00b in TATW but im a little bit dissapointed because i expected the elves to be stronger, i mean, my Sindar Archer got owned by woodsmen, FREAKIN woodsmen!

and second of all, i found this funny bug. A sindar archer was making rare contortions, then he started spinning in all directions while shrinking and ended up like a sprite.

yes the elves are underpowered as for the bug* then I am afraid to say that that is a side affect of breeding elves with dwarves. They shrink. Next time keep the elven race pure!!

    * I have no idea really!

I agree. You can use a major Sub Mod, or just use this like I do.

Woodsmen has AP weapon, they are dangerous to any armoured unit. You had enough arrows, why did you engaged them in melee?

He was departing to Valinor but was not sure about direction.

Alzu Never engage your archers. Reasons for this are as follows..... You had 95% of your arrows left only charge if you have 0 arrows left. The only elf i charge is my general due to his ability to regenerate his men. Deploy your archers as close to their side in the beginning. In doing so you 1, start dishing out pain from afar and 2 you have room to retreat as they get close. All elves get a movement bonus so you should be able to retreat, set up and fire some more. Concentrate all your archers on a few units till they get to about 100 men left. Then shift fire to the next unit. Doing this will possibly make them rout when they get real close. If playing the Elves get used to pushing the pause key to see how things are going and to reassign orders. Your only problem is facing a cavalry army or trolls as they will charge you. Hope this helps ya

i didnt engage, those archers simply wont run when they have to. idk why skirmish mode isnt working properly.

I've found that mixing loose formation and skirmish mode sometimes has the effect of making a unit freeze when enemies try to engage, and you get stuck in melee. Either keep in tight formation or manually skirmish (tougher).

You have heavily armoured archers against men with giant AP axes. I think i see where you went wrong.

Though I do agree that the elves are generally underpowered.
