Unique units
Hey, is there a way of making every unit in the game unique? For instance, I don't want to have a generic "Line infantry" that every nation uses. I want every single unit to be unique to a nation, even if their stats are identical. I know there are mods out there that basically do that, but I want to know how it's done.
Also, how do I attach a sound file to a unit? Every drummer has a sound file attached to him, right?

Re: Unique units
Imperial Splendor makes each nation's line infantry unique (both in stats and in names, such as how Prussian line inf is called Linieninfanterie).
To do it yourself (with line infantry as an example), I believe it involves basically giving each faction you want to have a unique line inf unit it's own line infantry unit. This was already in vanilla ETW with the major European factions in order to make them different in stats. To give them different names and descriptions, you have to edit the localisation file. To edit stats, go to the land unit stats db file. I'm not sure about making unique line infantry for minor factions.
If you go to the tutorials section of mod workshop, there are several helpful tutorials for making a new unit and changing/creating a unit's name and description.
As for attaching a sound file to a unit, I'd ask La De Da Brigadier Graham or Rsty Bloodnok.
They created the drum regiment and faction specific music mods, so they would know.
Good luck
