    Default Culture Conversion

    Is it possible to do a script to change the culture of a faction? Like the script where you can change the religion of a faction? Because if this is possible, it would be great if someone could make it so that, if mordor is destroyed, then harad will get an option to change culture to dunedain, yes or no. If yes, they will become allied to Gondor and at war with rhun. If no they will stay as normal.

    Is this possible?

    I'm sure it is possible because the same was done with Lithuania in Teutonic though I don't know how to do it.

    You aren't even sure what you're talking about. He knows you can change religion, he asked if he can change culture. And as far as I know you can't

    I think he is talking about religion, which is called culture in the game

    It's easy to do, but it make no sense if harad become sudently dunedain, because harad was never dunedain in his history. It was just a possession of Gondor. Haradhrim never have the same gods.

    I agree with Dea that there needs to be a culture (Religion) conversion. I think three new cultures should be made and that should be Easterlings (Rhun), and Haradrim (Harad), and Ents (For anyone who has an Ent faction in mind)... But I also think it would be neat to change some of the existing cultures.

    Followers of Melkor > Servants of Sauron

    Dunedain > Descendants of Numenor

    What you think?

    I belive it could be fine with Eriador... to become dunedan later

    Well culture (as in the game mechanic) cant be changed during the game. But religion (as in the game mechanic) that TATW refer to as culture can be changed mid-game.
    A deep discussion has gone into this exact feature for DaC – our solution is to switch back to the;
    Culture = culture
    And Religion = Neutrality, Children of Ilúvatar, and Followers of Melkor.

    The main reason TATW makes religion = culture is to emphasize the transitions when a settlement is ‘man’ captured by an ‘orc’ faction and vice versa. BUT we can make this work using the Britannia method alone and use religion for other purposes..

    What you mean tatw doesnt use culture? They use religion?

    No, of course TATW uses both culture and religion. What I mean was a reply to selekous' post.

    Clarity... TATW uses Culture because it is core feature...

    Culture = Culture
    Religion = Culture

    So both game mechanics are 'visually' the same to the player but totally different code...

    correct - it would be near impossible to make a change to the culture=culture without destroying the very nature of this middle earth mod..

    however religion=culture is just a representation used to make a decent recruitment method.
