the mercenaries are (by now)
-as Dwarves you can hire some Dale cavalry in Dale regions
-Ents as High and Silvan Elves in Fangorn
-some units when you join an invasion as Evil factions(some Orc Loooters etc, don't know exactly,I'm always Good)
-some mercenary ships,troop transporters
Ok... Thanks a lot...
Was just confused seing that there seem to be a lot of mercenaries to choose from, when you play a random battle...

Mhh well , in the Eriador and Rhovanion Area there should be some mercenaries , but not in other places
"It's bizarre though. Donald Trump, an ageing, orange skinned reality TV star with a history of selling steaks and conning people, a trophy wife and one of the most fragile egos I've seen pretty much just destroyed the head of the interventionist faction in the US State apparatus, Victoria Nuland, after literally becoming President of the United states. We must live in one of the more interesting timelines."

It would be good to have more mercenaries available in more regions I think![]()
I don't know what the Lore says about it, but in areas with once grand empires gone rather low-profile, a lot of able men are bound to become available for military service. That would give the good factions like Gondor a way to cope with the lack of skilled units in the early phases of the game.

Orochimaru & Aizen you must Die!! Bankai Dattebayo!!
I'm no master of Middle-Earth Lore; but I don't think there were a great number of mercenaries available.
I can see in Eriador that there might be some from the various areas that produce bandits...many men might prefer being a mercenary to a legitimate power than wanted to be hanged by the same.
Dunlendings and the other ethnic groups might make worthy merc companies too; as well as the Beornings of the Anduin river valley.
Speaking of Dale however: does anyone find it odd that the mercenary cavalry the dwarves can hire in Dale are better than the regular cavalry from Dale?
It is just odd to me that Dale wouldn't also hire these men if they are so much better than their own starting cavalry! Especially with their primary foe being Rhun.
I thought it would be nice if Mordor could hire mercenary Easterlings and Southrons too...especially Variags of Khand since those folks are just on the other side of Nurn.
While Gondor might be a very structured society, I see men of Rohan coming to Gondor to work for a mercenary wage. Even Theodan lived in Gondor and learned a great deal there.
Rohan probably wouldn't have much use for mercenaries since they are still somewhat a barbarian culture; but they could maybe hire "Kinsmen" mercenaries like the Beornings from the Anduin Vale if they were to call on them.
In Dale, they might be able to hire some few units of Dwarven Mercs for specialized tasks like a solid Pike unit or two to hold the flanks of their lines.
The only result of all this might be that you get armies that pretty much just look like the other armies you are facing.
When I first started playing this game I was really sad that there was no Beorning faction. And now that I've played a campaign as the Orcs of the Misty Mountains and fought against the Beornings I REALLY wish their was a Beorning faction...those guys are pretty tough infantry. It would be nice if some Beorning Armies could be added that were not sitting in the cities waiting to be conquered. Maybe even with a certain hirsute fella to lead them into battle...

Mordor could get Mercs from their allies, like New Spain in Americas... (Harad, Rhun)
yes definately need more mercenaries, Sauron hired lots of mercenaries to attack gondor from the coast, but they were killed by aragorn and his undead horde
yea faramir does say that he has men of rohan fighting with him when he captures frodo and sam
