    Default Graphics card problem

Ok I have been running on my Intergrated card for about 3 months now, because one day I loaded up my computer bear in mind the previous time I was on my computer it was fine and shut down properly and I was running XP. Well the next time I loaded my computer it was just a black screen nothing no mouse at all, so I ran my monitor through my intergrated graphics card, and I got a picture and a sign in the bottom right saying "No VGA" I didn't know what that meant and still don't so since then I have been using my intergrated card any ideas?

    Dell dimension C521
ATI radeon x1300 series (before it stopped working)

I don't know what you want people to say yourself that your X1300 is broken and it says 'No VGA' when your cable to plugged through your monitor to your video card. I doubt you have warranty on the X1300 so your only two options are to continue to use the on board video card or buy a new discrete card.

Well I don't know if it is broke because the last time I used my computer shut down fine then the next time I loaded the computer up it didn't work just a black screen.

Try it out in onther PC if you can or try the other VGA output and if that doesn't work then you card looks as if it has died. I have to say I've know video cards to degrade and break down but it's very rare (from my experience) for a card to completely fail like this so it looks as if you might have just been unlucky.

Dell boards aren't that bad, you can replace your video card with whatever you like so long as your PSU is up to it and you have the correct port. Do you know if your AGP or PCI-E?

    Edit:
Well that's good news, if you want a replacement video card that can actually play games at a decent frame rate and doesn't draw to much in the way of power I would suggest you get a ATI Radeon HD4670. It doesn't require extra power connectors and will run fine on a PCI-Ex x16 1.0 slot so almost any stock PSU should be capable of powering this.

It will fit fine, it's about the same lenght as a X1300 anyway.
