    Default If God hates violence

This is my question going out to the religious people on TWC. Please understand that I do not wish to offend anyone but it's just something that popped in my mind while I was trying to fall a sleep yesterday.

I am certainly no expert on God or anything but I always understood that God abhors violence and that murder is a dead-sin. or is it called mortal-sin, I don't really know English is not my native language but you get the picture eh?

So my question to you guys: "Why didn't God make all creatures including Humans Herbivores?"
There are plenty of animals that survive in a strictly plant-diet, even human can survive on it.
But yet there are so many carnivores and omnivores, who eat meat. If God really hates violence and murder that much wouldn't it have been better to make them all herbivores?

We don't know God hates Violence, no one can tell.

I think he wanted all human animals a like to give a chance to live.

Who says God hates violence? Especially violence in the very broad definition you would have to use in order to make the "carnivores = violent"-argument stick.

Well murder is a death sin, no?

In order for carnivores to get food... They need to kill.

Murder, yes I suppose. All murders are killings, not all killings are murders.
And besides, assigning legal terms to nature seems a bit weird.

God made so many kind of animals so all would have enough to eat, every little thing that is alive on our earth has a design and purpose. We human where first apes, now look at us. God has plans for us and made the ape so in time we could evolve from it. Every insect, animal is important. And if you look like this, then you could say technically that humans are not needed. Because no animal or insect depends on us, we hunt for food, fur from animals to have clothes. But we are not needed in God his design.

Okey, let me rephrase... Taking a life is a death-sin?

Also we are talking here from the view that God created everything. So why would he create creatures that need to sin to survive?

    No.
In some religions taking any life is a no-no. Buddhism for example. But if you're talking about the Abrahamic God, then no.

    Because it's not a sin.

Because God sees killing to survive not as a sin for a animal or insect.

    Ratbag,

Before the flood all creatures ate herbs and fruits only. It was after that the eating of meats came into practise. Now I'm no scientist but when the cover above was removed the ages of men's lives became shorter perhaps having something to do with the sun having greater penetration from that point on and so perhaps the eating of meat had to do with that for internal chemical purposes to counter the effects of the sun.

Perhaps there are those qualified to make more scientific analysis of this. I remember my minister collecting data and presenting it to Aberdeen University about this for analysis and they found nothing untoward in his evaluation. Indeed I believe, although it is lost to me now, that there was another event that takes place in the Bible where the lifespan of man is again shortened as a consequence of the event to what we accept as three score and ten being the normal.

There are plenty of animals that survive in a strictly plant-diet, even human can survive on it.

What makes you think he hates violence? Everything is decreed by God including violence, so therefore he must not hate violence.

Well, I don't really care for Christianity so I never read up on it, but all you hear them talking about is how Christianity is a religion of peace. But my question is answered, thanks all.

For balance. For example, if you have 100 rabbits, they will go threough a field in a couple of months. However put in 10 foxes, the rabbits population will be fine.

    All balance.

Well I don't know which God you're talking about but according to the God of the Quran and Bible God/Allah loves violence. I mean you can practically sense him jerking off to the mere notion of annihilating the Amorites or slaughtering the Jews of Khaibar.

First of all its A pimp named Slickback. You say the whole thing together, like "A Tribe called Quest". You hear me? Say it with me now A pimp named Slickback.

Secondly, I mentioned both the Bible and the Quran - the amorites being a biblical reference the the jews of khaibar being a islamic reference. Why? Because they happen to encompass the majority of humanity's faith. So I'm not Islam-bashing at all. In fact I love my Muslims.
