At least six people have been killed and dozens injured in a fierce gun battle in Gaza, emergency services say. Eyewitnesses say hundreds of Hamas fighters and policemen surrounded then raided a mosque where followers of a radical Islamist cleric were holed up.
They had fired rocket-propelled grenades at the mosque in Rafah, near the Egyptian border, witnesses say.
It is thought that at least 100 supporters of the al-Qaeda-linked group Warriors of God are inside.
Hamas said a grenade fired from the mosque killed one of its fighters. The other fatalities were reported to be gunmen, and a child was also killed.
    Fighting pledge
Earlier, during Friday prayers, hundreds of worshippers at Ibn-Taymiyah mosque declared Gaza an "Islamic emirate".
The mosque's imam - Abdel-Latif Moussa - and armed supporters swore to fight to the death rather than hand over authority of the mosque to Hamas.
The Salafi Warriors of God, or Jund Ansar Allah, gained some prominence two months ago when it staged a failed attack on a border crossing between Gaza and Israel.
The group is very critical of Hamas, which governs Gaza, accusing the Islamist group of not being Islamist enough.
Hamas has cracked down on al-Qaeda-inspired groups in the past.
It is concerned they may attract more extremist members, and has forbidden anyone except what it describes as Hamas security personnel to carry weapons in Gaza.

Hopefully in the future it will only be people like Akbar Ahmed left standing. Hopefully some day the wider perception of Islam will assimilate closer to what Akbar Ahmed has to say.

So is Hamas going to become allies with the US in the fight against extremists?

This is good news in that I think alot of Americans believe that Hamas and Al-qaeda are one in the same in terms of their beliefs and acts.

Hamas and Israeli forces have quite a few common enemies, like Hezbollah, Al Quaeda, and especially Iran.

Israel carpet-bombing Gaza couldn't stop Hamas. I doubt one mosque is going to have much more luck.

I've decided that caring about 10 million Palestinians of which half are refugees, the other half are occupied... is a little bit more important.

Yeah, bro I'm talking about them. Because Hamas and whomever "destroying each other" will result in massive civilian casualties (as is the case with all civil wars).

A large part of those occupied voted for Hamas and suport it.

Actually there are currently less than 2 million Palestinians left in the West bank and Gaza, so if there are 10 million Palestinians (which I highly doubt there are) than a fifth of them live in the palestinian territories and there are more then 8 million refugees, higher than the population of Israel+Ocuppied Territories combined!

Both male and female walruses have tusks and have been observed using these overgrown teeth to help pull themselves out of the water.

The mustached and long-tusked walrus is most often found near the Arctic Circle, lying on the ice with hundreds of companions. These marine mammals are extremely sociable, prone to loudly bellowing and snorting at one another, but are aggressive during mating season. With wrinkled brown and pink hides, walruses are distinguished by their long white tusks, grizzly whiskers, flat flipper, and bodies full of blubber.
Walruses use their iconic long tusks for a variety of reasons, each of which makes their lives in the Arctic a bit easier. They use them to haul their enormous bodies out of frigid waters, thus their "tooth-walking" label, and to break breathing holes into ice from below. Their tusks, which are found on both males and females, can extend to about three feet (one meter), and are, in fact, large canine teeth, which grow throughout their lives. Male walruses, or bulls, also employ their tusks aggressively to maintain territory and, during mating season, to protect their harems of females, or cows.
The walrus' other characteristic features are equally useful. As their favorite meals, particularly shellfish, are found near the dark ocean floor, walruses use their extremely sensitive whiskers, called mustacial vibrissae, as detection devices. Their blubbery bodies allow them to live comfortably in the Arctic region—walruses are capable of slowing their heartbeats in order to withstand the polar temperatures of the surrounding waters.
The two subspecies of walrus are divided geographically. Atlantic walruses inhabit coastal areas from northeastern Canada to Greenland, while Pacific walruses inhabit the northern seas off Russia and Alaska, migrating seasonally from their southern range in the Bering Sea—where they are found on the pack ice in winter—to the Chukchi Sea. Female Pacific walruses give birth to calves during the spring migration north.
Only Native Americans are currently allowed to hunt walruses, as the species' survival was threatened by past overhunting. Their tusks, oil, skin, and meat were so sought after in the 18th and 19th centuries that the walrus was hunted to extinction in the Gulf of St. Lawrence and around Sable Island, off the coast of Nova Scotia.

2 million refugees inside Israel itself yeah... They have it so bad compared to the others!
And im sure theres way more then 2 million in the WB and gaza, Gaza only had about 1.5 million and the west bank is purported to have 3 million, but its probably exxagerated.

Hamas never complains. Hamas only kills and fights and does other badass . They are like totally dangerous bad boiz, like cowboys out in the wild west. Cowboys don't complain, neither does Hamas.

And Israel cannot be reasoned with. They turn down all real peace proposal and demand slavery. Palestinians will not accept slavery. So they fight. They are like Spartans, only a lot cooler.
It would be far smarter to build up a force over time to try and invade or defend instead of wasting resources all the time to attack Israel. but they prefer terrorist tactics like that.
And i dont see how Israelis demand slavery, and if they did, it always make me lulz that so many people are angry at lieberman for wanting to transfer places full of palestinians in Israel over to the west bank and gaza. Lieberman sounds like a freaking palestinian resistance hero.
So theyre moving from slavery to a palestinian country in theory, But they think slavery is better..hmm...
