Copy the entire line where you write the io_file, perhaps you did something wrong.
Did you launch the game via the shortcut ?

Are you using the medieval2.exe file or the kingdoms.exe file for your shortcut?

The proper spelling for the target entry should be: "C:\program files.....\medieval2.exe --io.file_first"

This is my directory address "C:\Program Files\SEGA\Medieval II Total War\Launcher.exe"--io.file_first

No surprise there: the "--io.file_first" thing only works with the medieval2.exe file

    Replace Launcher.exe with medieval2.exe
I am not sure if the --io.file_first has to be within the quotation marks or behind as you have it.

You will now go straight into the game, no more launcher.

It has to be out of the quotations, or else the properties won't let you update it since the target path does not exist.

There needs to be a space between the " and - for it to work.

Yes but without the last "

    Regular exe -

    HTML Code:
    "C:\Program Files\SEGA\Medieval II Total War\medieval2.exe" --io.file_first
    Kingdoms campaigns -

    HTML Code:
    "C:\Program Files\SEGA\Medieval II Total War\kingdoms.exe" --io.file_first --features.mod=mods/british_isles
A SPACE before each DASH MARK set.

Search for 'medieval2.exe' in the SEGA folders and adjust your path where necessary.
