    Icon5 Edit the number of turns

    First, i wanna say a big thank you to the people behind this amazing mod, its truely a piece of art.
    Me as an Lotr-fan, and some years back player of RomeTotal War was suprised when i first run into this mod, for me the reason to get medieval II and Kingdoms.

    But here is the question,
    because i'm a first timer on Third Age, and deep in my first campain, im running out of time,
    i know, i know, its pathetic , but i dont think i have enough on 400 turns.
    So, is there any way to edit the total turns in a cfg file ??

    Of course
    third age also has the descr. _srtat
    got o your medieval_2 foler - mods - third age - data - world - maps - campaign - imperial campaign - and there you find the descr_strat
    here you can edit the number of turns per year at timescale
    the mod now is 0.25, that means itz has 4 turns per year, you can change that to 0.1 that would mean it has 10 turns per year, but i the problem is that your building times and so on will stay the same....(and i also don't know if generals still ageing correctly)
    oh and if you change this, it won't affect your started campaign, you have to start a new one to play with the changes...

    another solution
    search the file mentioned by MasterBigAb and change the end date to 30.000 instead of 3.000
    so you will have an almost eternal game

    yeah might be a better solution...but i think 5.000 will be enough

    Or continue playing after the end date?
    That usually works...

    Didnt know that was an option,

    I don't know if it works if you haven't completed your victory conditions, but I think so...

    Hi all,

    Unfortunaly, the options are not working in my saved game,
    ouch, 46 turns remaining.

    i know i told you that it's not save game compatibel...you have to start a new campaign..
    but i think even after this 46 turns you will be able to play...cause you "only" have to reach the win cinditions in this time period, but wther you "fail" or not, you should get a message where you can decide if you want to continue playing or end the game....

    I guess the following advice is the same as Stainless Steel and vanilla Medieval 2.

    Go into TATW's descr_strat.txt and simply change the end year from whatever it's set to to whatever you want it to be. Just don't change start year it'll screw the game up and make it CTD. And don't change the turns per year to anything other then 1.0, .5, .25 other it to will cause CTD. Hope this helps.

    ah why cant you change the descr strat year thing to other than 1 , .5 , .25 or what it will crash where on earth did you get that pearl of wisdom from you can change that number to many many different numbers indeed and it will not crash the next time you start a campaign and you want a long game merely change that number to .0835 and go to the campaign script located in the same folder find the turns per year script and where it has the season change over statement at 3 change that to 11 and what you end with is a 12 month a year game with proper aging once a year of generals and only 1 season of snowy winter for the year

    ive changed the descr_event file to look like this

    event historic large_city_barracks
    date 8 10
    ;date 20 20 turns

    event historic huge_city_barracks
    date 14 16
    ;date 45 45 turns


    so that my millatry events come sooner but it diddnt change anything as im in turn 26 and still ahvent recieved my first milatry event of which i changed to turn 20. Have i changed it correctly as there are 4 dates alltogather by the way waht are the top 2 dates for date 8 10 date 14 16 what does this mean and have i changed the other 2 events correctly cos its not working
