Gondor horse archers????

that's not exactly true.
Nemonorians(and Elendil's forces in the Last Alliance) widely used horsearchers which they hired from local tribes and it was at the End of Second Age...

why would Gondor,descendant of Numenor cease to use them later?

of course there is no direct evidence of their use during TA,but Gondor using horsearchers sounds better than Uruks with flamethrowers

@Natanael if you want to make Gondor Horsearchers I'd advise you use Gondor Militia Archers model.They'd look better on the horseback IMHO

I dont think a gondor archer could shoot effectively from a horse...

I want a Gondor horses archers because it's the easy way for kill troll!!!
( I just play one faction completely out of nowhere, such as Eriador ... but if I ask an archer mounted for gondor!! it's not possible) Lol

Horse Archers dont have enough ammo to take down trolls. Try catapults and balistas. They do a fine job of destroying trolls. Fountian guard are good also..All AP units will hurt trolls badly.

You need to modify battle_models.modeldb, export_desrc_unit and export_units.

Sure...

You might want to copy and rename a horse archer entry in the first 2 files (export_units doesn't matter but do that for the rest).

Ok thanks. I'll try this... I've read a tutorial for adding new troops it's more difficult, but not impossible...

I think a mounted unit of Pelargir Marines would fit better into the Gondor unit roster.

Mounted javelin throwing AP, restricted AOR to Pelargir to keep them special, but still within range of the borders to make them useful to the overall war effort.

Pelargir marines are very handy troops - same melee as militia, heavier armor, and AP javelins. I always put them behind my main line in E Osgiliath defense, they tear the Mordor armies up with the javelins, then join the line.

I work on it, but it is not finished yet.
I still need to edit some text file ..
so that everything is perfect!!
my first test is for the archer of Gondor, if it works, I can do
a militia archer mounted and can be sailors!

My first unit didn't work!! some problem with Mbdb....

It's my first Post and my first experience with modding!!

I just Need Help!! Please!!!
