Isn't going to happen. We don't have extra faction slots to devote a second one to a faction that only appears in multiplayer.

You could do it yourself.. rename another nation to the desired name and follow these instructions..
    http://forums.totalwar.org/vb/showpo...59&postcount=5

and then follow the instructions here to add the units.

Why don't you just both be Rome but with different legions?

Would it not just be simpler to take away the "same factions can't fight each other" rule instead?

Actually that may be possible in RS2, since the 'Rebel' faction will be able to recruit Legions....all of them. It will just depend on what shows up in the custom battle ques.

i think one of the factions is set up as a shadow faction, so if a general rebels his troops rebel with him, i will have to look into it a bit further but i think it is possible, I WILL BE BACK WITH THE ANSWER.

Generals won't rebel since loyalty is not enabled. When playing one of the modfoldered campaigns, if a settlement rebels it will go over to another faction that has been set up for that - a 'shadow' faction. For example, a Seleucid city rebels, it would go to the Parthians.

By this logic the Parthians might get a city somewhere in Asia Minor while they`re still in the far east side of the map...

But what if the Seleucid city was in Asia Minor? Asia Minor was never under Parthian Control. I still like the system though and won't be too bothered by this.

Indeed. I'm merely explaining what I know. Dvk is really the engineer behind all this, so he may be able to offer a fuller explanation.

The units do not have unit cards, or textures or sprites, so they won't work.

Alternatively you could just follow this advice from another member:

The Seleucids won't be shadowed by Parthia.....this was the 'intention', however there are problems having a faction shadowed in RTW if that faction's 'shadow' gets defeated....as in instant CTD.
So the 'Rebel' faction in RS2 will do all of the shadowing, because it's set up so that the player can't defeat it. It is a 'best we could do' situation given the faction slot limitations.

So what's going to ultimately happen is that if a settlement rebels, say, a Seleucid settlement, it will rebel to the Rebel faction....which in turn will be able to recruit Seleucid's units in that city (or most of them anyway). We're basically doing this to make rebellions a bit more challenging, since a settlement that rebels to the slave faction is usually a pushover, and it's very difficult to handle 'slave faction' recruitment. It doesn't work like a 'normal' faction.

Interesting, thanks for the response, this is going to be awesome!
