Problem running ExRM under Vista

Hello everybody,

I have bought myself a new comp, featuring vista 64 bit. Before anyone breaks out into cheers and congratulations, it came along with a problem:

As soon as I try to start a campaign of ExRM I get a CTD. I´ve installed it 2 times over, of course after de-installing the game all together each time before, but the problem persists. Rome itself and BI are working just fine and I have used the same CDs on 2 different computers before successfully, but neither the installer version, nor 2 noninstaller versions of ExRM gave me different results.

Everytime I try to start a campaign: CTD!

Somebody an idea what to do?

I'm on Vista 64 and don't have any problems. Try uninstalling RTW, then reinstall and try again. Have you patched to 1.6?

I've used ExRM on Vista 64 and Windows 7 64 with no problems. Are you positive you're installing the mod correctly? In the right location, and having updated BI to 1.6?

Also remember to delete the map.rwm file before you start a campaign (\...\Rome - Total War\ExRM\Data\World\Maps\Base\map.rwm).

I gonna try that one. I never deleted the file. My RTW-BI version is already on 1.6, no patch needed.

Ok, I have finally made it work.

As for people who might run into the same trouble, here my solution:

Turn user controle off! And leave it off!

Thats all. Funny enough it doesnt even run if you switch it on again after installation, but again when you switch it off again.

I hope this might be of help to somebody.
