Why did Gnaeus Cornelius Cinna Magnus adopt Pompey's nickname Magnus?
While Pompey's two sons and the other grandson didnt have Magnus in their names, it's odd for me to learn he has it.

Wasn't it a title like the great, given to men who have done extraordinary things and it would be foolish to pass it to your sons or other descendants

He was married with Pompeia Magna, the daughter of Pompey. In this case, Magnus is a sort of honorific descendance title
