Default Guns and town hall meetings

Does it really prove anything, America? Why do you insist on bringing guns to town hall meetings as a way of "proving" your rights have to be exercised? And it certainly doesn't help when Americans screaming at their representative are blaming all the wrong things... things they couldn't explore intellectually if you tried isolating them and speaking flatly.

Some guy brought a gun to the town hall meeting with the President... with Jefferson's quote about watering the tree of liberty. He subsequently gets chewed out by Chris Matthews.

From a distance, like Canada, guns to town hall meetings is a symptom of the problem. It looks as though Americans just don't know what to do, have not the information to cope with what's happening, and are left to blame the first thing that walks into the room that ain't red, white or blue.

Whether it be birth certificates, socialism or the misguided belief that health care will mean forced abortions on the rich paid for by the rich by force, America is just bleeding lost right now.

Watch any of the meetings and you see the emotions, but you also see just how little people know. It's pathetic a) because it's needless propaganda ill-conducive to democracy put out by media conglomerations and b) it's sad because it's America, the first country built on the idea of liberty.

Bringing guns to town hall meetings is ridiculous. I think you'll find most Americans agree with that so you can drop the whole "Does it prove anything America?" followed by "...So one guy brought a gun to a town hall meeting" thing.

These townhall meetings are getting so out of control because people are pissed off that members of government are trying to pass this thing whether the majority of the American people like it or not, which they don't.

P.S. I don't need to hear anything from Chris "chill running up my leg" Mathews when it comes to commentary on an Obama policy. Hardball

Possibly since Obama took office. No one gets to significant office in Illinois without having the approval of the Dons. I strongly suspect that one of them has the President of the United States firmly planted in his wallet.

Here's a test for you. Whomever Mayor Daley, of Chicago, approves goes to high office. Anyone that he starts attacking in public ... witness Rod Blagojevich ... will be removed from office, and will likely end up in prison. Daley is the public voice of the mob.

Matthews was clearly trying to discredit the guy by making him appear a "birther".

    I like the guy.
The powers delegated by the proposed Constitution to the federal government are few and defined. Those which are to remain in the State governments are numerous and indefinite. The former will be exercised principally on external objects, as war, peace, negotiation, and foreign commerce; with which last the power of taxation will, for the most part, be connected. The powers reserved to the several States will extend to all the objects which, in the ordinary course of affairs, concern the lives, liberties, and properties of the people, and the internal order, improvement, and prosperity of the State. - James Madison

"A right-wing activist named "William Kostric," who's left a lot of footprints around the Web, is listed as a "team member" of the Arizona chapter of We the People, the far-right group best known for joining a lawsuit challenging Obama's right to be president based on his not being a U.S. citizen. Kostric told MSNBC he recently moved from Arizona to New Hampshire.

And on his MySpace page (h/t Lavender Newswire), Kostric also lists as one of his heroes Robert Schultz, the anti-tax activist and We the People founder who spent a ton of his own money on ads promoting the Birther movement. At a press conference in December, Schultz told reporters: "This nation is headed towards a vortex of a Constitutional crisis. While on the one hand, the Obama citizenship issue is so simple a schoolchild could grasp it, if left festering and unanswered, it possesses the potential to send our nation into a time of great peril.""

"Kostric's MySpace profile also lists among his heroes Randy Weaver, the white supremacist and right-wing activist who survived the Ruby Ridge confrontation with federal agents"

Wow, just by looking at his Republitard eyes I could tell he's a deeply disturbed fanatic. Thanks for confirming my suspicions. It's amazing how he lied to Matthews about his true affiliations. Just goes to show you can't trust a Republican.

    I'm a Republican...

I'd rather you not generalize people.

Ah, well, guilt by association, clearly.

He likes a man who rightfully resisted government. Whether or not he was a white supremacist is immaterial.

Not that I need to defend the guy anyways. I just like him, go away.

EDIT: And I'd be willing to bet money that he's not a Republican.

Or some evidence as to why he was visibly squirming when questioned about being a "Birther". His kind seem to have finally figured out that the whole "Birther" thing was a kooky dead end and are running from it at a million miles an hour.

He wrongfully failed to show up in court when indicted on charges of selling illegal firearms to an undercover ATF officer and then wrongfully used violence to resist arrest. So "rightfully" my ass.

    Maybe, maybe not.

    Don't care.

He wrongfully failed to show up in court when indicted on charges of selling illegal firearms to an undercover ATF officer and then wrongfully used violence to resist arrest. So "rightfully" my ass.
    Yes, rightfully.

If you're looking for someone sympathetic with the ATF or their cause I'm the wrong guy.

    Or you'll shoot me?
If I say "Yes," will I get banned?

If the majority of the US population doesn't want this passed than it shouldn't pass. Do you really disagree with that?

Yes and no. The majority does not rule the government. It is this exact reason we are a republic. Directing the government based on what the majority WANTS is the tyranny of the majority.

So, what the majority wants is irrelevant in the decision-making in rather Obama's reform is good for this country or not. History has shown the majority to not a be a great decision-maker.

I wouldn't have agreed with the majority about African American and Women's rights more than 100 years ago.
