Default Im not allowed to play RTW:SPQR 7.0 either...

    ....but for very differing reasons.

I have trawled thru the FAQ's and install guides but am still having issues gettin 7.0 to work on my laptop. It runs on Vista home premium. The vanilla game runs fine but when i try to install spqr 7.0 it just CTD's on load up screen.

    I am installin RTW
    copying to new folder
    install 1.3
    install 1.5
    install spqr

yet when i try to run game it gets to first load screen then immediately ctd's.

Getting a little fustrated now as i have tried to change management options in security tabs to allow modding but still no joy and im now on my 5th install/reinstall.

If i had any hair, i'd pull it out. lol

Loved 6.4 and just wanna play new version.

God damn Vista. Impale the person responcible!!!!!

    any help please fellas?

Try adding -ne at the end of the targetline of the shortcut that you start the game with. This has resolved CTDs at startup for some people.

In the shortcut. Make a shortcut to your desktop. Then right click and go t property and youll see the target line.

    Yeah, just what nazmus said!
Rightclick your RomeTW.exe-file in your SPQR folder, rightclick and make a shortcut. Then rightclick the shortcut, and check properties, then you should look for the top line that is editable.
This is for example how mine looks (path, etc will differ, however note where the " are placed, they are important):
    >>>>> "D:\Spel\SPQR\RomeTW.exe" -ne <<<<<

Doing this will make the game start "windowed". Apparently this seems to be a strain on some computers when it has to change from desktop-resolution to ingame-resolution at startup or when alt-tabbing if you get game started. However, if you get the game started, you have to go into options and make sure that the ingame-resolution is set to the same as your desktops. Good luck

These answers are in other threads. Making new threads for not knowing the basics is cluttering the Forum.
