Are siege engines only vulnerable to fire?
Like ballistas and catapuls....

no normal balists also damage them, i think like 7% for each hit
and sometimes even units can damage siege engines....i had a battle, wher i broke out with my cavalery and destroyed their rams...or you can also destroy ladders when they are at your walls...

that doesn't always work, it's strange, sometimes you click with your units on the ladder (it shows the sword coursor of course xD) and they just go to tem and damage it, when units are on their way climbing up them, they fell doewn and die and the ladders are broken...the same with the rams, sometimes you can just click on them and your units destroy it, but sometimes they only stand next to it and don't do anything....

Are you talking about throwing down enemy's ladders when you have your units placed on walls
or attacking them while your units standing on ground(outside the castle)...?
Cause an ability such as this was available on RTW but never came to my attention that
is available in M2TW as well!

no they have to stand on the ground infrotn of the ladders....would be cool if you could do that from the walls, would be kind of realistic, cause you more or less cannot do anything against little ladders, it's a bit sad and strange

On a similar note, are seige towers Invincible to fire arrows ? I have totally given up trying to use archers to set them ablaze ...

I don't know, i can shoot with tousands of fire arrows at it and it never started burning, whil the AI burns mine down from time to time with only a few archers....

I suppose it's more of random incident.... I ve noticed though that it is directly related to the
level of your archers ...more experienced ones tend set them on fire more often...

Each arrow is like a 1% chance or less for your archers. AI gets both bonuses to their siege towers and their arcehrs setting yours ablaze.

Fire arrows don't appear to do anything to siege towers, but the ones that are auto-fired from wall towers seem to have a decent chance of setting seige equipment on fire. Ones upgraded to ballista towers even moreso.

When you sally out against a besieging army, they often back away from their seige engines and rams. At that point, you can have your units walk up to them and hack away (and destroy) them.

Overall, I have found that the best counter to catapults on the battlefield are flaming ballistas. They are very accurate, and you can wipe out catapults very quickly.
