    Default Byzantine late units problem

    Hi,
I just installed and playing SS 6.1 as the Byzantine Empire.
Problem is that i am in 1318 AD and although i have build all the buildings needed for Archontopolai, Catafracts, Guard Pikemen etc their cards are appearing but they are inactive.
Is there some problem indeed or i just have to wait more?

    Thanks in advance

I don`t know what your problem is but i think you need to wait more if that doesn`t work than i`ll try to find a different
way to fix it so i might be able to help!

I remember that there is some kind of a trigger that makes some units available in some date. I think you can find that event in descr_events file, I don't remember the event's name. And I'm in a library now and can't write more.

Grayed out, showing X turns to next unit is available?

That's a bug in Byg's Grim Reality Submod
There's is a fix for it, but unfortunatly it requires you to start a new campaign.

That's exactly as you describe it. Don't mind to start a new campaign. In this one i play with peasants only and mercs.
What do i have to do?
Thank you all for your answers

From the link provided in the last post:

    Important Note
If you installed BGRIII using the Stainless Steel 6.1 installer you NEED this fix. It is at the bottom of this post, called "data.zip".
Simply unzip it and place the resulting data folder here:C:\Program Files\SEGA\Medieval II Total War\mods\Stainless_Steel_6\ , then start a new campaign.

As of 27/05/08 this update file also contains updated descriptions and improvement tweaks. Requires new campaign.

If you're starting a new campaign anyway, it might be an idea to also download the latest version of BGR, again, from the same link
If you choose to do so, you should read the thread first, as it changes gameplay a lot.

OK. Well for anyone who has the same problem, that was the solution. Just download the data.zip and copy what's inside the data file in the data file of the SS mod.
    Thanks again guys.

That may be the event ”Grote Mandenke”. I you can recruit those units at 1362 AD, when the "Grote Mandenke" gets activated. This case has been turned over here.
Are you sure it's not this one?
Note too that I'm not 100% sure of this.

E: I checked it and I was wrong. There's no mention of Grote Mandenke on Archontopoulai or other units. I think it was in SS5 only.
