    Default Treebeard

When I was playing my Isengard campain after +-50 turns I got last march of the ents
So I was verry excited about those 42 ents but in 5 turns rohan rushed to the ents and killed them all
Rohan killing Treebeard is A bit disapointing, is there anyway how I can fix this

Ents as a Faction is brilliant and unlike being mercs IT GOES WITH LORE.

If Thranduil himself had walked into fangorn and said come on fight with us we will give you money they would have told him to off.

ENTS DO NOT CARE ABOUT MONEY SO WHY WOULD THEY FIGHT AS MERCENARIES?

Sadly both mercenaries and faction are not quite lore conform.

The Ents were not influenced by anything but the threat of Saruman. Nobody asked them for help. So they are moreso faction than merc

See, that's one of the reasons ents should be a faction

Treebeard summed it up quite fitting:

    Out of Memory:

"I`m on no ones side, because no one is on my side."

    /edit

As an faction ents are able to do many weird things.

This shows that he is free and not addicted to someone. The ents are free and decide themselfs.. So they act like a own fraction.

Act like one, yes as i wanted to express. Are one, indeed. But making them an faction ingame could lend to very "un-entish" actions.

The flavor behind ents as mercenaries is, that you aren`t actually paying them, but they help you. Ofc not quite lore conform- But the best solution we have, when we want player commandable ent units.

Why don't make them a mini faction? They could have on settlement (Fangorn), only some units, whitout the possibility to recruit new one, and some entish buildings.

Can you play as a mini faction cause if not there's a reason against.

    There i agree 101 %
An ent faction is against lore as ents as mercs are....
but i think it's more likley that they help some elves than that they act as a unique faction....
So i think this submod is more or less the perfect solution, cause both is ok but not really lore whise and everybody can decide how he want to have them...

Lol i dont care it doesn't lore based, ents are just badass
And Ent faction is good idea but their only mission should be taking isengard and turning isengard into a farm

    Default Treebeard, Ents and Huorns

As a faction, ents would start doing some pretty silly things. I can't imagine how disappointing it would be for them to strike up a trade agreement with OotMM or form an alliance with Rhun.

I think that Huorns should be added as bandits primarily in areas of the campaign map that are old forest; Fangorn and Mirkwood. There could also be chances of them spawning elsewhere in forested areas. Huorns could have a faster refresh rate than ent mercenaries.

The bandit huorns would ambush on the campaign map, and have the ability to hide when moving (and still) on the battle map. They would attack all factions except elven ones.

Keep ents as they are; occasional mercenaries recruitable only by elves.

Seeing that they were around for thousands of years... where's the logic in making them emergent?

Seeing as they just walked around doing nothing for a long time, they can attack Isengard under the right conditions
    That's my suggestion, at least.

Expands ents make them to faction in their own right. Give them smaller squads for the Huorns .groups of 50 trees would subdue fine for regular infantry. add 2 more cities to fangorn. One on the west side where Saruman started to cut down the trees and another one further in against the Mountains called say Deep fangorn. and fangorn ofc. Make ent faction start in Deep fangorn. Give Isengard West fangorn from start. and poof mini faction. Instead of adding massive units to the rooster u can start with just 4 ent units all toghether. Maybe add some cheese elf like Guardians of Fangorn or something.
