I'm trying my first campaign as mordor, and I'm getting chomped by large stacks of archers. I don't want to result to clumping several generals into one army just to counter them. Anyone have any tips? Thanks![]()

Wait for trolls then run them over. Otherwise use your Nazgul bodyguard to charge them first and distrupt their archers and keep your infantry close behind to charge them when they are disrupted. Sending in some folder in Orc Bands in loose formation is a realy nice screan for your main army.
The AI is like a retarded overwieght child. He realy want all those fries, he just does not know how to get them. http://img1.coolspacetricks.com/imag...unny/81776.gif
Yep, always have a couple of units of orc bands you can use as an archery screen
2 Orc bands in long loose line in front
Archers next
Then your main army
What I've noticed a few times with this setup is the enemy sends his archers forward, they have skirmish mode on and run back and forth in front of your orc bands while your own archers get free volleys in
Use Black Numenorians to scare em off (run them real close to the archers then get away before the infantry can respond. This should give your Orcs enough time to reach the enemy. If they're behind the enemy line, use Black Numenorians to kill them.
Mordor really makes you appreciate calvary.
bring like 4 unit of siege weapon in your army .
edit: work even early game bring 4 ballista wen u got catappult you can mix it up

you will never beat the archers, archers = hell for you mordor players and always will be hell

Sticking to sieges helps and mostly using a cheap unit in loose formation to draw the enemy fire.
What? Problems with archers? Use your nazgul! I always put around 3 nazgul in an stack and they, without support, can wipe out even formidable armies just with their charges, cries and their fear. Once for the lulz i gathered all nazgul in one stack and blitzed gondor and rohan.
If you don`t want to use your nazgul use your orc bands! Just throw them at the enemy and they will soak up the arrows.
as Mordor I had atleast 4 uruk archers and I had atleast 1 troll unit, whether it being olog hai or mountain trolls.
When the trolls go in I simply send in my whole army and own them, all at once,.
The only time I used the nazguls I beat a army of gondor back after the whole army routed apart from my general. I took out 4 units of soldiers, 2 of them being gondor spearmen so I had to maneuver.
I made my armies all the most elite possible..
They mostly consisted of Uruks and trolls. and it worked perfectly the way I did it.
I lost barely 100 each battle against armies my size or bigger.
When I play mordor in the beginning I build 50-60% of my army as archers, To counter their archers and it also verry usefull to siege a city and then if the enemy sails to attack you they all get killed before they even reach youBecause Ai is always years bussy to get all their soldiers out a small gate. And when you got your event barack event the real fun begins, Uruk halberd who beat gondorian soldiers easy and trolls
I also advice to use nazgűl to counter their archers because their cavalry is stronges cavalry in game I think
