    Icon4 Adding a new unit, NEED HELP!

    Hi there, atm i'm trying to add a new cavalry unit based on the hochmeister mesh, who i've given the the ritterbruder weapons and shield.
    My issue is that i dont seem to get the battle_models file right...

    from the kind of CTD i'm gettin the problem lies within the battle_models(screen goes black, then to windows, without any error)

    Help please... ?? going crazy with not being able to get it ingame..

    Argh. I know your pain, corne.

    Maybe removing the 0 from the end of "teutonic_grandmaster_normal.texture" would do the trick?

    Nope, just tried that... and tried it in any way possible aaargh

    clueless...

    after now checking my error logs i've found out that the problem lies within the EDU

    You've hit the max number of units. You'll have to delete a unit from SS before you can add the Valkyries to your game.

    which means i have to remove it from EDU,EDB,battle_models ?

    well, got it to work... but, a new problem... the lance and sword are floating in the air.. grrr.... and the textures are all messed up(shield and weapons(know how to fix this))

    But thnx for the help m8.... hehe... thou have another problem to deal with (and ofcourse balancing the unit and stuff)

    Fixed the lance(removed the shields)

    well, i'm now able to play with my dreaded valkyries (also made dismounted)... BUT, theres a big but... it is just the ritterbruder mesh, with new textures...(couldnt get the new mesh to work properly)

    right now, i wanted to make a valkyrie-archer. Took the dismounted ritterbruder mesh, and added the bow from norse archers. Renamed both swords(and their group so secondary), and saved it out... but my problem now is... my battle_models file is wrong once more... (unspecified error, believe it comes from that file)

    your horse archer have a shield or not???? You give him a shield Animation!!!

    well, for starters its no horse archer Norse, with an N second, they do have shields.. and thirdly i finally got it to work..

    At least almost.. took the dismounted ritterbruder mesh, gave it a bow(using the norse archers anim)...
    BUT, i cant get the bows to show ingame ...ofcourse there had to be another thing hehe

    ??

    You cannot add a weapon to a unit by text editing. You need to change the model as well (I think the Ritterbrüder don't have bows).

    Aye, i know.... like i said working in 3ds max, so i took the bow from a archer model, and added it to the ritterbruder mesh, and changed the appropriate group.

    But they still turn invisible ingame =(

    You will need a texture for the bow. By the looks of it you will have to make your own - Final Teutonic Heads_teutonic_order_diff.texture doesn't contain anything for a bow.
    1. Check the attachment line of the unit you took the bow from
    2. See if you can put that part of the texture onto your teutonic one.
    3. Use the texture manager (not sure how it works in 3ds max, using milkshape) to assign the bow to the texture.

    Well, i found my fault.. the bow had primaryactive1 under group comments so with replacing the 1 with 0, they are now visible.. BUT, its floating...
    My problem now seems to be with the converting to ms3d from max... i tried assigning it to every single bone, and then export it. But still floats.. tried importing it again, and the bow changed its weight to rhand.
    Using ms3dImportExport_ver1_1 script (tried 1_3 but i got all these errors when i tried to import it back in, didnt work ingame either)

    Now i've searched the forums everywhere for an answer, but i cant find it, many with the same problem but with no answer.
    Tried gettin a hold of gmax(never used it before) as i understood it, it might fix this bug. but following the download link, runnin the setup file.. it only installs fraps..??


    Any help please, gonna insane here ???


    about the texture thingie, was not the problem, and wont bother texturing right now.. a bit too much work. just wanna implent this

    EDIT: included my ms3d file here.. if somebody wants to have a look on it =) maybe give me hand
