Default Repetitive Sieges-A cause for real headache?

Hi all,I wonder if you actually play your sieges in a longterm campaign or if you autoresolve them.Personally,I prefer to autoresolve the sieges when the garisson I face consists of a puny force. In my current seleucid campaign though, repetitive sieges destroy my peace of mind!
What's your experience with RTW sieges people?

I avoid them as much as possible. Letting the enemy army sally and take them out that way. Only play sieges when I need to take the city quickly or if there are enemy reinforcement nearby.

Defending I always play, I enjoy defending the walls

I never auto-resolve. Okay, maybe for naval battles

I auto-resolve if its huge odds for me, like 10:1 or whatever. If it's close I do it myself.

i do everything myself. you want the enemy to decide how many of YOUR men die? no way... the AI that controls AutoResolve is good friends with the AI that controls your enemy. do not let these things decide.

Well,Autoresolve is a bad idea in H/H or VH/VH campaigns cause you lose too many units. On the other hand constant sieges reflect the hardcoded "Total War" AI where you are not supposed to be in peace unless your city has a full garisson of decent units.Certain cities in strategic map locations might not be without siege for 50 years or so;for example take Antioch:Egyptians will always try to take the city and rarely will envelope it.Other border cities suffer from this too:if you play as the Greeks and choose to hold Peloponnesus and not expand to the north,Macedonians will concentrate their effort in taking this city even if they lose 100000 men in the process!!
In other words unless you play as a major faction with certain area to maneuver , sieges will haunt your game!!

siege is boring in RTW, although siege defense is not.... The AI is so dumb that they'd just wait in the center and die. I autoresolve it once I can afford to.... (not possible in first 10 years!), and exterminate everyone whether they're happy or not!

I agree and i am doing the same thing as R0mm3l,if the garrison is extremely weak there is no fun and i don't want to waste my time.In the other hand if there is a strong garrison,i always wait to attack until the last turn
There is only one Macedonia in the world and it is GREECE
    Kosovo is Serbia

Like R0mm3l said ,but siege defenses can be boring of fun to depending on what tactic you use.

if it is a defensive siege i usually have a band or two of wardogs (when i'm playing the romans) and i send them out followed by a calvary attack it usually cuts the siege time down.

Early on I play every siege, but later in the game I just wait because I usually have a huge enough army to repel anything before it reaches my besieging force. But I don't find the sieges boring. Each battle is uniquely different and requires new ideas to overcome at least on VH they are.

bearly ever auto reslove except if the odds are so highly in my favour because the AI tends to let more of my units get killed or even my generals
