    Default Forcing game to use 2nd helmet

    What I want to do is to add the helmet sash to the hussar helmet.
    It is there on the diffuse but the game don't use it. Is there a way to force the game to use it??

    I'm sure I've seen it used before but can't find the picture

    Jup, you can with the model converter. Open it in milkshape and replace 02 at the and with 01 and replace the model which has 01 at the end with 02.

    I found out that militia soldiers have all kind of hats (tricorns, cowboy hats) but due an issue I think they don't show up. Kinda weird.

    So if I understand you right, I should be able to do it by doing what you've said but it don't show so it's no use doing it right?

    It does, but the game only shows 1 hat, that with 01 at the end.

    The militia model has 3 hats

    the one in vanilla (_01)
    the ones that colonial militia have (_02)
    and the tricorns (_03)

    So if you change 03 to 01 and 01 to 03 you'll see the tricorn hats ingame. I don't know why it doesn't show the others, I might look at the comments.

    As this is just a reskin it won't help me this time but good to know cheers mate +rep

    ... It will help if you cange it... You use the 2nd hat like you wanted to.

    You've reskinned the 2nd hat, so if you make that one appear you'll get your reskinned 2nd hat. But you have to change the names of the models, thats all.

    I have never used a model converter (still learning how to skin) and would I be able to place the updated model in a patch pack etc so others could use it??

    I am interested in this, as I have seen a LOT of interesting different hats in the skin files. For example, I think... Freikorps? Something like that, one of the new units, has a bearskin skin in it's texture, it's the same one that the Grenadier Guards have. I would very much like to be able to use that.

    Could you post some more information on what it is possible to do like this, and how?
