I was playing the OotMM and I notciced a few things that could've been done differently. I also notice a few wasted unit slots. Then I read a few extracts from the books, and came to the conclusion that this faction resembles more of BFME2 than it does the books or the movies . I'm not knocking on KK's work, but he even said himself

Please note that it wasn't my plan to do this faction and due to the lack of time and other modellers I couldn't spent as much time on this faction as on others.
I hope you will like them anyway.
Though I can't make any big changes anymore, feedback and suggestions is always appreciated.
So the point of this is a request for anybody to make a more Game-play and lorish oriented Goblin faction (That doesn't seem too diffucult). Here are some ideas for units and a few interesting notes ...
Lower Tier
1. Snaga: Same as Snaga Skirmishers, no armor upgrades...
2. *Goblin Troop: The same as Goblin Infantry only with a few revisions (Read note Below)
2. *Goblin Hunters: Same as Goblin Archers but with the same revisions as Goblin Troop
3. *Goblin Impalers: Same as Goblin Halberds but with the same revisions as previous two units
Middle Tier
4. **Hobgoblin Mauraders: Hobgoblins with usual assortment of Melee weapons (Read Second Note)
5. **Hobgoblin Warriors: Hobgoblins with two handed axes, warhammers, etc...
6. *Mounted Raiders: Goblins Mounted archers, on Wargs
Upper Tier
8. **Hobgoblin Champions: Heavily Armored Hobgoblins armed with stolen Dwarven Weaponry
9. Cave Trolls
10. Hobgoblin Tramplers: Heavily Armored Hobgoblins mounted on Large Wargs, armed with large Schimitars
AOR Units
11. Gundabad Orcs: Orcs who are superior to Goblins but inferior to Hobgoblins
12. Moria Uruks: Uruks who are armed with Halberds (These aren't the same as Hobgoblins)
Notes
Goblin Armor Upgrades

* I always kinda thought it was silly two have three Goblin units that do the same thing (Archers) yet they are only different because of their armor. Why make the changes via armor upgrades for all basic Goblin units like so
1. No Upgrades: They lare like Snaga, pretty much no armor
2. First Upgrade: They are like normal goblin units, basic chain and cloth
3. Second Upgrade: The our like the heavy armored Goblins
Hobgoblin Definition

**It's also silly that your heaviest armed Goblin can be beat by an average Dwarf. When in the books (The Hobbit and RotK Appendix), you constantly read about Large Goblins who could whip your average Dwarf. I define these as Hobgoblins, they are still Goblins, only Larger (Not as tall as a Uruk) but vey broad and Stocky. Many of the Goblin Leaders would be Hobgoblins. THEY ARE NOT URUKS !!! I can see these easily being modelled by just tweeking the original Goblin...
But please, no Spider riders that always struck me as... well... silly and no dragons either I know you have not mentioned it but please not those
Well, in the long term, I could see someone doing those different Trolls, but that would mean excessive modelling and animations. These I suggested are basic, logical, and most of them only require coding, the others, minimal amounts of modelling ...
Most changes seem to me unnecessary except the hobgoblins idea.
What could be made to enhance gameplay of OotMM is to have an advanced barracks that is unlocked when a certain number of battles against dwarves are won, that allows the player to recruit these superior goblins with stolen dwarven armor. Something similar could be done with the wargs, make them available when a certain number of battles are won against armies with cavalry. This type of gameplay is the same featured in the Americas campaign playing as the apaches.

This is a genius idea, they could have a "looter" feel to them, kill enough riders and you got yourself a new cavalry force, execute enough dwarves and you steal their gear.
That is an amazing idea, I dont think its possible but I think there should be unmouted wargs as light cavalry without charge.

It's very much possible, the apaches in the americas campaign can recruit mounted and gunpowder units after defeating enough european armies with horses and gunpowder.
I love your Idea Louis Lux, that would be great to see! I never even new the Apachies had that, lol...
My other ideas, such as combinig alot of those unnecassary Goblin units and making quite a few of them ingame as Armor upgrades. The multiple repetative Goblin units just waste slots and spam the game, when it could be much more orderly...
I also think it would be better to change the General models for the Goblins to be a very Large Hobgoblin. I mean, I think there should be emphasis in GREAT Goblin...
His Bodygaurds should be one of the Hobgoblin units I mentioned previously...
some of your ideas are really good. i would also sugest a unit of unmounted wargs. but they wouldnīt be cavarly, they could act as wardogs in rome (someone allready achieved to put the in ME2). the logic for this unit would be that these wargs didnīt grow enough for the goblins to ride them (some kind of "lesser wargs", like the snaga for orcs), or maybe they are still to young?
but... wherefore you have to invent troops and people that don't exist in Middle Earth and into JRR T.'s thought.... Hobgoblin??? uruk-hai in Moria??? halabardiers???

i am sure hob goblins are mentioned somewhere... and harlberdier is a kind of unit equiped with a harlerd, like when you say spearmen you mean that that unit use spears

Hobgoblins are larger goblins and there where very large goblins. Tolkien wrote that some goblins where so large that they would have to squat down while moving through tunnel because they where to big to stand upright in them.
